What we do:

As a Sr. Payroll Specialist you will be most successful in this role if you are a systems savvy person with a strong working knowledge of ADP WorkForce Now Payroll, and are comfortable working on new processes, programs and projects needed for the HR total rewards team.

What you can do:

  • Assist in directing the end-to-end payroll process
  • Process employee changes, tax changes & filings, wage garnishments, health and welfare deductions, direct deposits, special payments, bonus calculations and 401k adjustments
  • Monitor changes and remain current on legal, regulatory, or governmental requirements (e.g., wage and hour, garnishments, employee relocation, tax matters, 401(k) and other benefit deductions) including CA regulations and filings
  • Coordinate various Payroll related internal and external audits including but not limited to: compensation; 401K, Worker’s Compensation and overall process audits
  • Build sophisticated MS Excel reports, VLOOKUP and pivot tables and run custom reports from Workforce Now
  • Assist with maintaining compensation, benefits and HR data and processes, and ensure changes are entered into systems as well as appropriately for payroll deductions
  • Assist with employee inquiries and respond in a timely fashion
  • Assists in resolving administrative problems with the vendors
  • Help develop new policies and SOPs including Workforce Now
  • Assist with coordinating state and federal filings for HR, benefits, compensation and payroll matters; including work and living state rules
  • Helps develop reports from Workforce Now for completing HR, benefits and compensation requirements
  • Other duties as assigned

What you can contribute:

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and achieve deadlines without sacrificing accuracy or integrity (15%)
  • Experience processing payroll and applicable laws/taxes for multi-state organizations including CA (30%)
  • Excellent analytical and investigative skills; able to analyze large amounts of data and assist with vendor integration and file feeds (20%)
  • Proficient with Excel VLOOKUP and pivot tables, analytics, Microsoft Office Suite or similar software (35%)
  • A four (4) year college or university degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field and/or relevant equivalent experience preferred
  • CPP (Certified Payroll Professional) certification desired or working toward
  • 5 plus years of payroll experience desired
