The team creates and implements that partnerships necessary to design, develop and scale aircraft production, build the infrastructure and ecosystem that support industry requirements, and gain widespread public adoption. Our team works by, with and through external organizations globally to include industry leaders in aviation, robotics, infrastructure, financing, and emerging technologies. We see you as a self-starter with entrepreneurial spirit and ability navigate new markets and industries while defining a path to success.  As a Partnerships Manager within an enterprise focused on being a leader in mobility solutions, you will have the opportunity to explore the fullest extent of your knowledge and experience in technology, mobility, and relationship development. The role of a Partnership Manager encompasses aspects of strategy, business development, execution and facilitation. You will help develop an understanding of the needs, stakeholders (public and private) and solutions (technology/policies) that positions the Hyundai UAM team for successful commercialization. As a business developer you will identify the key stakeholders (Federal Agencies and Non-Governmental Organizations) to develop a relationship of trust, transparency and integrity that yields opportunities to establish and grow the market.  You will formulate key initiatives, required plans for implementation, and manage and deliver on commitments. You will consistently work closely with all other teams within partnerships, UAM and other Hyundai Motor Group (HMG) affiliates, in order to facilitate strong collaboration and deliver successful multi-modal mobility solutions. 

What you can do:

  • Support the development of Hyundai UAM’s geographical market development strategy
    • Identify and define needs, stakeholders, solutions that will drive the business case for the market
    • Support the development and validation of the business case for market entry at the geo level
    • Perform gap analyses to inform program development initiatives and recommend key partnerships and/or activities to enhance Hyundai UAM’s business position in key geographies
    • Develop necessary infrastructure and ecosystem frameworks for geographic based launch
    • Define the frameworks for scalability at global levels
    • Support the development of marketing and PR campaigns that support the brand halo of Hyundai in the air mobility market
  • Develop opportunities that provide Hyundai UAM with leadership roles that enable the UAM market across key geographies
    • Identification and outreach to partners (public/private) to assess opportunities for collaboration
      • Conduct due diligence of partners in order to make recommendations for deeper engagements
      • Be the relationship owner and facilitator of discussions between internal and external team
    • Assess, align and synergize strategy between external partners and Hyundai UAM
    • Lead problem solving and solutions discovery alongside internal and external partners
    • Collaborate across the Partnerships team to leverage relationships and link commercial and State & Local teams for specific geographic-level programs and initiatives
  • Identify and mobilize key stakeholders and relationships required for successful implementation
    • Federal Agencies (Transportation, Energy, Communication, Aviation) and Private organization with large geo presence (Energy, Mobility services providers, Transportation owners and operators, Communication and digital network system providers/operators, property developers)
    • Non-Profits, Trade Associations/Alliances and Market Consulting agencies
    • Market investors (infra, energy, transportation, operations, real-estate)
  • Ideate and develop new initiatives targeting UAM adoption at the national level that can be strategically implemented with various factions across the geo
    • Developing synergy between UAM’s visions and focus and external geo needs and partners
    • Align initiative with the larger HMG vision for mobility in the geo
    • Collaborate across the HMG affiliates and UAM Partnerships team to leverage relationships and link commercial, state/local partnerships to geographic-level programs and projects
    • Develop an impact assessment (Community and Market) and deployment strategy for the initiative, to include activities like simulation and visualization, gap and feasibility analysis, policy formulation and consortia development
    • Support and recommend necessary marketing, PR and branding activities that support and add momentum to the initiative
  • Support growth of a technology Research & Development (R&D) network
    • Work with internal UAM R&D and HMG affiliates to identify and initiate relationships with key global R&D organizations
    • Formulate collaborative initiatives that benefit UAM and HMG from a technology front
    • Support in the development future tech growth forums (Eg: accelerators, incubators) with Hyundai’s Investment team
  • Monitor media, relationship networks, events, industry collaborations for opportunities to advance Hyundai UAM visibility through partnerships
  • Work with internal partners to identify policy implications of implementation activities in an early market
    • Collaborate with internal partners to inform infrastructure requirements

What you can contribute:

  • This role is more an art than science. You don’t have to be an engineer but need to understand technology; more importantly know  how it applies within markets, business and human relationship side of it
  • Worked in an industry blend of mobility (ground, aviation or smart cities) and emerging technologies (autonomous system, energy (Electric and Hydrogen), communication, or digital networks), either focused on vehicles or infrastructure
  • Experience working alongside federal and state agencies in developing new and emerging markets (commercial or defense) in a start-up or large enterprise with demonstrated success in these endeavors;
  • Background in technology application, business development and/or strategy; ideal combination is one that brings together technology, execution and relationship development
  • Superb communication skills, and strong quantitative and qualitative analytical skills
  • Experience working across diverse stakeholders, and a strong desire to work directly with community leaders from the public, private, and non-governmental sectors
  • Adept at working as part of a team, while independently driving opportunities and results
  • Willingness to travel, up to 40-50%

You may also be able to contribute:

  • Exposure and understanding of operations, processes and LCM of governmental agencies, and relationships in key offices (For US: DoT, DoD, DoE); preference for someone who has been directly engaged or part of federal and state agencies in some leadership capacity
  • An advanced degree in science, arts, or business
