What we do:

The Simulations Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, and validation of a vehicle flight simulator. The ideal candidate will have strong problem-solving skills and be able to work well both on an individual basis and in a team environment. The ideal candidate must work well with engineering colleagues, customers, and contractors to affect implementation of system requirements.

What you can do:

  • Design, implement, and test a simulation environment for the development and validation of aircraft autonomy software

  • Work cross-functionally to develop a high fidelity model of the vehicle for hardware-in-the-loop and software-in-the-loop testing

  • Work closely with autopilot and autonomy engineers to derive aircraft simulator system requirements, required functionality

  • Optimize algorithm performance across a wide range of development platforms and embedded systems

What you can contribute:

  • Master of Science in Computer Engineering, Robotics, Aerospace Engineering, or other related fields; or Ph.D

  • 5+ years of experience in building systems/algorithms for vehicle simulators, environmental models, or video games

  • Expertise in physics simulation and hardware in the loop simulation

  • Expertise in with aircraft flight simulators, physics engines, and visualization tools.

You may also be able to: 

  • Program with strong Python and C/C++ implementation experience

  • Demonstrate strong knowledge of environmental models, physics engines, collision physics, rendering engines, Unity, Unreal, etc

  • Develop and integrate tools for photo-realistic 3D rendering

  • Support hardware test fixtures for aircraft avionics systems

  • Work with both internal and external customers

  • Demonstrate comfort with ISO 26262, DO-178C, or other safety-related software and product development processes
