OPPORTUNITY

The primary purpose for this role is to optimize and standardize the Supply Chain and material processes across multiple sites within the region through driving KPI’s and forward-thinking strategic initiatives.  The position’s responsibilities are to safely lead and direct activities surrounding two different facilities’ (Waterloo, IA and Terra Haute, IN) planning & scheduling processes, inventory management, warehouse operations, procurement and ERP management.  The role will build and lead world class teams and have responsibility for both long term and day to day operations of the supply chain functions.

As a Regional Supply Chain Manager, primary responsibilities include:

  • Manages a team of buyers, warehouse associates, schedulers and analysts by clearly communicating expectations, providing honest feedback, with a servant-leadership management style.
  • Responsible for inventory management and accuracy to improve Working Capital, increase inventory turns, reduce waste, and optimize service levels to customers.
  • Owner of the ERP integration and support of the Supply Chain functions. Ensures system meets or exceeds needs of all company employees.
  • Creates and leads strategic initiatives for Supply Chain across the region (material cost reductions, supplier consolidation, material management and oversight of vendor score cards).
  • Implements and maintains a framework for best practices in Supply Chain and inventory.
  • Drives continuous improvement activities within the Supply Chain function to develop successful performance platforms.
  • Develops and drives Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) related to Supply Chain performance.
  • Analyzes demand to create Supply Chain plans that ensure availability of materials, products, human capital, and other possible capacity restrictions.
  • Aids in building short and long-term manufacturing strategies with analysis and proposals to increase labor, capex, decrease COGS and other variables that affect output and cost.
  • Monitors forecasts and quotas to identify changes or to determine their effect on Supply Chain activities.
  • Implements new or improved Supply Chain processes through collaboration with internal and external customers.
  • Designs and implements supply chains that support business strategies adapted to changing market conditions, new business opportunities, or cost reduction strategies.
  • Manages activities related to strategic or tactical material requirements, inventory control, warehousing, or receiving.
  • Investigates, recommends, and works to help implement alternative policies and procedures to improve branch performance.
  • Practices and reinforces Hydrite Building Blocks.
  • Performs all duties outlined in relevant SOPs and all other duties to be assigned.

REPORTING STRUCTURE

  • This position reports to the Director, Operations.
  • Works with Operations, Procurement, Sales, Customer Service, Transportation, SQRA, EHS, and TS&D.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATIONAL CRITERIA

  • A Bachelor’s degree required.  Supply Chain discipline preferred.  APICS certification preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of practical industry experience.
  • Entrepreneurial spirit; thrives on autonomy and the challenges of continuous improvement.
  • Excellent leadership skills, with the ability to communicate a vision for the Supply Chain group and drive results while developing a world class team.

  • Demonstrated thorough understanding of ERP/MRP systems.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Ability to manage time effectively and prioritize multiple tasks, including short and long-term goals.
  • Must have communication and interpersonal skills, along with the ability to read, write, and speak English.
  • Valid driver’s license required.
  • Strong computer skills required.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to remain seated for up to two hours at a time.
  • Ability to sit, stand, and climb stairs for up to 10 hours per day.
  • Occasional turning, twisting, stooping, bending, and reaching.
  • Able to wear a hairnet and beard net, if applicable, with a hard hat.
  • No exposed jewelry in body piercings when in a GMP production area.
  • Due to safety concerns, the wearing of contact lenses is prohibited.
