The Regional EHS Manager is responsible for leading the Hydrite Environmental, Health and Safety Program for their respective operations, branches, and departments they oversee. This role is responsible for the development and implementation of strategies, goals, measurements, policies, programs, and practices focused on improving the environmental health and safety programs. The Regional Safety Manager is a coach for local leadership and local EHS focused on driving continuous safety improvement while assuring 100% operational compliance.

As Regional EHS Manager, primary responsibilities include:

  • Acts as visible and vocal leader and ambassador of the Hydrite Safety System
  • Coaches Senior Operations Personnel on proactive safety measures and visible safety leadership
  • Serves as a principal source of information on health and safety issues
  • Leads, mentors, coaches, and develops safety team personnel
  • Provides Subject Matter Expertise to Program Management team when necessary
  • Advises senior management on the compliance status, costs and technical improvements needed to achieve compliance
  • Consults with corporate or other outside agencies on EHS related problems
  • Works with and assists other members of the Hydrite team as needed
  • Protects the interest of Hydrite and its employees as required by applicable regulatory agencies
  • Ensures 100% compliance to all federal, state, and local regulations, policy's, laws, etc.
  • Ensures sites are working with corporate environmental to identify, develop and submit all reports to local, state, and federal governmental environmental agencies
  • Provides regional oversight of the Management of Change process and PSM program including coaching, mentoring, and escalation
  • Provides regional oversight of High-Risk Programs to ensure effectiveness, compliance, and regular review
  • Supports the development and implementation of annual safety plans for all reporting sites
  • Develops protocols and supporting policies and procedures for all safety, health and environmental programs and systems
  • Assesses the impact of safety, health and environmental laws and regulations as they affect the company and its operations, as well as, tracks new regulations as they develop. Formulates and implements policies, procedures, and programs for compliance
  • Assists in the development and administration of programs, reports, and employee training workshops
  • Plans, organizes schedules and conducts assessments of branches, work areas, and equipment. Monitors site conditions, practices, and procedures for compliance with health and safety (OSHA) requirements and PCG
  • Reviews accident investigations conducted by branch personnel for identification of accident causes and measures taken to prevent reoccurrence
  • Attends and participates in professional and committee meetings related to health and safety issues. Participating in the Corporate Environmental Reviews for their facilities
  • Prepares for, directs, and coordinates emergency response activities


  • This position reports to the Director of Safety


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Industrial Safety, Environmental Sciences or similar with at least 6 years of work experience in chemical manufacturing including 3 years in a management role
  • Working knowledge of OSHA, DOT, and EPA regulatory environments
  • Must have a strong working knowledge of Chemicals and Chemical Processing
  • Working knowledge of OSHA, DOT, and EPA regulatory environments
  • Working knowledge of hazardous material / dangerous goods regulations (desired)
  • Working knowledge of NESC, NFPA, ANSI, NHTSA, NATMI, etc. (desired)
  • Considerable knowledge of behavioral-based safety principles and practices
  • Considerable knowledge of accident prevention and safety equipment
  • Working knowledge of HSE Risk Management loss prevention methods
  • Workers comp, incident management and root cause investigation experience
  • Willing to travel 15% domestically
  • Solid decision-making skills using good judgement under stressful circumstances
  • Ability to effectively communicate, both verbally and in writing, with employees and management including the ability to read, write, and speak English
  • Strong computer skills and knowledge of Power Point, Word, and Excel required
  • Ability to lead cross-functional teams, influence senior leadership and lead change across multiple sites
