The Role

The Creative Director is responsible for ensuring we deliver bold and effective creative content across all mediums. They are accountable for creative leadership and support across client deliverables, directly creating or directing the creation of beautiful content that engages people and makes them think. They will report directly to the COO and partner with agency account teams to develop and implement creative strategy for clients and lead partner engagement across all creative domains to execute deliverables. 


  • Team Leadership: Lead the creative team - including copy and design employees - to best carry out deliverables in a timely manner to highest standards from ideation to implementation
    • Take ownership of the creative team
    • Delegate and assign necessary roles for clients
    • Understand client needs and articulate them to the team
    • Oversee multiple pieces of business at once, effectively managing time and delegating work
    • Provide feedback on work and direct the creative team in delivering quality work
    • Actively pursue top tier talent to build out the creative team in partnership with the COS
  • Guiding Human Agency’s Creative Direction 
    • Partner with COO on establishing the brand identity and vision for Human Agency during 2022 growth period
    • Take ownership of / establish creative processes for new business development including the development of value propositions, outreach materials, pitch decks, and case studies in order to put Human Agency’s best foot forward
  • Implement Branding, Graphic, and Web Design: Ensure development and implementation of all copy and design creation for clients and Human Agency
    • Partner with the Agency Principals to develop and manage content strategy and creative briefs for both small-scale and large-scale projects, harnessing strategy, digital and brand design, and compelling content
    • Support the creation of visual and verbal identities for a variety of clients, from concept through deployment and work with external branding consultants as needed
    • Oversee the creation of all necessary visual elements, style guides, and editable templates for new brands, including but not limited to: logos, videos, emails, web interfaces, print materials, packaging, lower thirds, subtitles, titles, animation styles, social templates
    • Scope all creative projects and set creative goals working with both full-time and freelance creative team to execute Company needs

Basic Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of experience working in a creative marketing environment with proven ability to build out and lead teams
  • Are fluent in leading teams who will execute work across: Adobe Creative Suite, Sketch, Figma, Wireframing, custom software, and tool development
  • Ability to multi-task across multiple pieces of business and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment
  • Extraordinary attention to detail and ability to project manage effectively with high energy and positivity
  • Portfolio or samples of work demonstrating smart, brand-building ideas and executions

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Desire to champion user-centered design principles and methodologies
  • Desire to be collaborative, passionate about design, and have positive/effective team building skills
  • Prior creation of award-winning or breakthrough work
  • Experience managing individuals and teams of people. Collaborative and team oriented
  • Ability to multi-task across multiple pieces of business and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment
  • Strong interpersonal skills to work internally and with clients
  • Can work without other leadership
  • For CDs with an Art Direction background, expert proficiency in Photoshop and InDesign, and any new and emerging design-specific software along with comfort with interactive design, information architecture, motion, or visual design

Location: Anywhere in the USA is fine. We are a fully remote company with employees concentrated in Austin, New York, Chicago, Los Angeles and St Louis.
