Senior Software Engineer (REQ #R142) position available with Popular Lab Co. d/b/a Hugo Insurance Solutions in Santa Monica, California.

Responsibilities: Develop and support highly available, highly consistent software products, focusing on backend architecture, development, and deployment. Apply complex theoretical computer science concepts to architect and improve software and systems. Build, support, and advise on continuous delivery/continuous deployment pipelines. Implement and advise on the development, monitoring, and support of robust anti-fraud, anti-cheat, anti-error controls and architecture. Communicate complex technical challenges to team members and executives. Lead and manage proprietary project discovery, deadlines, and delivery. Lead cross-functional teams in implementing software solutions in complex domains. Evaluate, hire, on-board, train, and mentor other software engineers. Import engineering best practices and lessons-learned from prior experience. Incorporate emerging engineering best practices at project, team, and company-level.

The position requires a Bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, or a related field.

The position also requires Five (5) years of post-baccalaureate and progressive experience in job offered or in a computer-related occupation.

Professional experience must include one (1) year of experience in the following areas: Senior Amazon Web Services (AWS) architecture; Node.JS; PostgreSQL; and Redis.
