We're looking for a Lead Product Designer to work on Hudl’s Pro Suite of services and software (Hudl Sportscode, Wyscout, Hudl Replay, Studio and Hudl) for professional sports teams. We’re exploring new ways to utilise data in Elite sports. Team's demands for advanced workflows are ever increasing and we need to be ready for the future.

We practice flexible working, you can work in our London or remote and we have very generous holiday packages.

You Will

  • Work on a small, cross-functional teams in creating and shipping clear and focused user experiences
  • Learn why first-hand with no requirements doc handed down from on high
  • Perform user research to understand latent needs beyond just the basics of what users say they want
  • Rough out concepts to test with developers, QA, and their product manager. 
  • Sketch, mock, and prototype key interactions often throwing big pieces out when it doesn't click in a user study
  • Work closely with PM’s as we roll-out improvements so that we can refine it as the product gets real-world use
  • Are accountable for how well a solution addresses a problem
  • Focus on a significant area of our business — the foundational systems Hudlies use to support our users

You Are

  • Have extensive experience designing for mobile, web, and connected devices. You’ve launched several products at this point in your career.
  • Excel in giving and receiving respectfully blunt feedback and critique.
  • Have strong beliefs, loosely held, about what’s best for Hudl's systems. 
  • Understand that technical, business, and design constraints factor into every choice.
  • Possess strong verbal and written communication skills to communicate decision-making rationale to team members and stakeholders. You prefer to use visuals to tell a story.
  • Communicate complex ideas, goals and problems clearly and in a way that is accessible even to those unfamiliar with the project.
  • Regularly mentors other designers in their presentation, interpersonal and team communication skills.
  • Work with stakeholders and others in a multidisciplinary team to define requirements and develop the solution.
  • Lead ambiguous systems-level projects that can generate massive growth and impact for Hudl
  • Advocates for design quality with the Design Director of the BU/team
  • Inspire, teach and speed any team up when it comes to constant iteration and learning by making. 
  • Ship to learn. Design for the long-term and iterates quickly to get to a first version of that future.

During the interview process you’ll need to be ready to show detailed examples - work that goes into good detail on a problem - of work with us. Applications without a portfolio are unlikely to be considered.
