Position Description                                                                                                                                                                                                           
HPS is seeking a dynamic and organized Research Analyst to join the Private Credit team in the New York office.  The Research Analyst will provide both deal-specific and macro-level industry research to assist in the due diligence process for new investment opportunities across multiple deal teams and strategies.

 

Responsibilities                                                                                                                                                                                

Specific responsibilities will include but not be limited to the following:

  • Prepare deal-specific research as part of the investment due diligence process to be shared with deal teams and the investment committee.
  • Create research updates covering specific industries and pertinent market topics for distribution amongst deal teams.
  • Develop comparable company analyses to assess and value new investment opportunities.
  • Collect and organize equity research reports, models, and company financial reports.
  • Coordinate with third party advisors and equity research analysts.
  • Complete ad hoc projects and analysis for senior management as needed.

 

Candidate Profile

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, economics, or a related field.
  • At least 2-3 years of experience in a research role or public accounting (Big 4, CPA preferred).
  • Strong understanding of capital structures, financial statements, and investment metrics.
  • Experience with Bloomberg, CapitalIQ, and SEC EDGAR is a plus.
  • Excellent organization skills; detail oriented; quick learner.
  • Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Desire for a fast-paced environment is crucial.

Rate of Pay:

The compensation range for this position is $90,000 - $115,000 but may vary based on various factors including job function, experience and geographic location. This position is eligible for a discretionary annual bonus.
