Position Description

HPS Investment Partners Lux Sàrl is the in-house AIFM for HPS in Luxembourg. We are seeking an Associate to support and help develop the accounting and finance functions for the internal AIFM as well as accounting oversight of the alternative investment funds (“AIFs”) under management and oversight of various delegates. The candidate must have a developed understanding of the financial industry, Luxembourg accounting operations, and proven track records of achievements in working within a team and coordinating multiple parties and workstreams.

Responsibilities
Specific responsibilities will include but not be limited to the following:

AIFs

  • Perform and assist with the regular review of NAV packages and other reports prepared by the Delegates
  • Assist with the production and review of the financial statements under LUX GAAP / IFRS / US GAAP for different type of structures (SCSp/Sàrl, Securitization vehicles, RAIFs)
  • Assist in the coordination of the periodic external audits
  • Assist with the collection and provision of the relevant documentation required by the Central Administrators and Depositaries
  • Assistance and/or undertaking of the Initial and Ongoing Due Diligences on the Delegates.
  • Enhancement and/or creation of due diligence questionnaires
  • Performance of ongoing oversight of the Delegates and reviews of their KPIs
  • Organization and attendance of regular service review meetings with the Delegate
  • Preparation of the quarterly reports on the oversight of the delegates

AIFM

  • Assist with the review of regular bookkeeping and reconciliation of the internal accounts of the AIFM
  • Contribution to the preparation of the monthly and annual closing under LUX GAAP and assist with both internal and external audit requests related to the AIFM
  • Preparation of the quarterly board packs, including actual vs budget analysis
  • Ensure compliance with AIFM accounting policies and procedures
  • Calculation and collection of AIFM management fees
  • Verifying and processing AIFM invoices
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of accounting processes
  • Assist with the regulatory reporting (i.e. SGOREP / Own Funds)
  • Participate and/or lead projects and initiatives to create new processes, policies and operations or enhance the existing ones
  • Assist the Conducting Officer for the Internal Audit queries

Tax Compliance and Regulatory Activities:

  • Review of the Corporate Income Tax returns of the AIFM
  • Review of the Value Added Tax returns of the AIFM
  • Review of the tax assessment / tax statement and organization of the payment of the tax due
  • Assist with the production and provision of regulatory reporting to relevant authorities (CSSF / BCL...)
  • Liaising with external parties to ensure fulfillment of relevant regulatory reporting requirements

Qualifications:

A bachelor’s degree or equivalent in accounting, finance or economics is required. The candidate should have 3 to 5 years’ working experience in Luxembourg accounting or audit fields. Ideally the candidate would have already gained some experience in a similar position preferably in Luxembourg in a (third-party) AIFM, ManCo or Audit firm.

Accuracy and a high degree of attention to detail and organization is essential. The candidate should be competent in Microsoft Office suite of products, especially proficiency in Excel, and you must also demonstrate a professional attitude and the ability to communicate effectively at all levels. The office language is English and strong English skills are required and the ability to speak and read French and/or German being a plus.
