Position Description
HPS Investment Partners, LLC (“HPS”) is seeking an Associate for its Private Credit investment team in San Francisco. The Associate will work with the investment team and support activities related to evaluating new investment opportunities and taking over coverage of select existing investments. The team is mainly focused on opportunistic private credit investments with most of the time spent on complex, stressed, or distressed situations. The Associate will work in a team of ~25 people with a flat hierarchy and report directly to senior investment professionals across San Francisco and New York offices.

Responsibilities
Specific responsibilities will include but not be limited to the following:
- Developing financial models
- Conducting detailed business due diligence
- Interacting with management teams and co-investors
- Valuation analysis
- Preparing materials for discussion with the investment committee
- Monitoring investments and sector trends
Candidate Profile
- At least two years of experience in top tier investment banking, consulting and/or investment background
- Passionate about investing and eager to learn
- Excellent modeling and spreadsheet skills, as well as quantitative ability
- Excellent presentation and communication skills
- Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
