This position will be hybrid out of the Springfield, IL; Madison, WI; or Addison, TX office.
The Business Systems Analyst - Experienced will serve as a liaison between the business and technology groups. The individual will be responsible for eliciting, documenting and analyzing business requirements to design and implement efficient and effective technology solutions. As a key member of the IT team, the Business Systems Analyst will contribute to the design and development of technical documentation, ensuring that the end solution aligns with the original project goals.
Responsibilities
- Assist business users in the creation of the business case and gathering information to support costs and justifications.
- Review business processes and assets, conduct interviews, and document current state.
- Facilitate discussions to support requirements generations, cost estimates, to support enhancement requests
- Organize, maintain, and store requirements in central repository
- Collaborate with IT teams and contribute to creation of technical specifications and data mappings between various systems.
- Support the Project Manager and team in the development and implementation of new systems.
- Research processes and systems to identify gaps and document where capability is not meeting business expectations
- Contribute to test plans and testing, ensuring solutions meet business requirements
- Operate with limited supervision or guidance and collaborate with team members in all areas
Requirements
- At least 3 years of experience in Business/Systems Analysis, with a preference for candidates with a CBAP or PMI-BA certification.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are required
- Previous experience documenting requirements and processes
- Organizational skills and attention to detail
- Effective written and verbal communication skills are required with ability to tailor to a specific audience
- Proficient in business process modeling and documentation tools
- Understanding and experience of the software development life cycle utilizing agile methodologies is a plus
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or Information Technology is preferred
- Testing experience is a plus
- Insurance Industry Experience is preferred
