As the Manager, Horace Mann General Agency you will play a key role in managing operations, driving results, and collaborating with other departments. Overseeing, coaching, and training team members to achieve outcomes and deliver performance.
Key Areas of Impact Include:
- Manage day-to-day operations, including staff to deliver defined results
- Work with team to drive desired results (Sales, Close Rate, notices, Compliance, Billing, and Admin)
- Work with other departments regarding: sales products, training, commissions
- Employee development and training
- Work with leadership to improve and maintain sales efficiencies, sales goals, and retention
- Work with agents to resolve issues relate to product, sales, and process
- Responsible for qualitative and quantitative reporting
- Coach and develop the supervisor and representatives focused on sales
- Understanding of the various non-Horace Mann products
- Oversee training of field agents
- Lead team of HMGA service representatives, providing support on escalated issues and addressing any performance concerns
- Primary responsibility is integrated coaching of HMGA representatives in an effort to improve efficiency and quality
- Identify and address performance gaps and facilitates additional training as needed
- Maintain and report on balanced scorecard using Key Performance Indicators for individual representatives
- Responsible for hiring, onboarding and training new HMGA representatives
- Develop and facilitate necessary training for the HMGA team

Minimum Requirements:
- College degree in business-related field or equivalent experience in a position
3+ years of insurance related sales experience - Must possess and maintain Property & Casualty, Life and Health Licenses in all states where Horace Mann conducts business for property and casualty lines of business (or ability to obtain in first six months in the position)
- Normal office environment; however, must possess flexibility to handle multiple changing priorities and time zones in states where Horace Mann conducts business
- Strong insurance policy, process and procedure
- Excellent planning and organization skills
