HoneyBook is a business management platform for creative entrepreneurs that centralizes and automates workflow, digital payments, and generates business opportunities for our customers. We champion technology as our ally in celebrating human passion and originality. At HoneyBook, every day we are on a mission to empower the creative economy to rise together, doing what they love.

Your opportunity:

We’ve built something special at HoneyBook and from the beginning we’ve been an organization that has been talent obsessed. At every turn, we’ve placed an unprecedented amount of attention on our people and our culture, and today you can see the results of these decisions reflected everywhere in the company.

We have a good foundation in place, and as the Head of People for our US team, you’ll be entrusted with building upon what we’ve worked so hard to create. There’s still much for you to shape and impact, and we’re looking to your skills, experience, energy and creativity to bring our entire organization to a new level.

Your task will be to align our people strategy with our business goals, building upon the strong base we’ve already developed — all the while keeping a lock tight grip on our culture as we grow. You’ll own our people strategy for our US-based employees, always looking down the road to identify what will be needed next in terms of process, initiatives, structure and talent.  At the same time, you'll help create and drive key people initiatives for our global HoneyBookers. If you like to build, and love a challenge, you’ll find an opportunity to create something different here with support across all levels of the company. Simply put, this is going to be both a fun and meaningful journey!

Here are a few of the things you’ll do:

  • Partner closely with the Chief People Officer to drive culture initiatives and ensure scalable compliance
  • Work closely with the Executive Team to develop programs that inspire employees and rally the organization around common goals, vision and values
  • Provide strategic HR leadership in the areas of talent acquisition, assessment, development and retention
  • Be a strategic partner to senior executives
  • Innovate the role of the US-based People and Recruiting teams and pioneer best practices
  • Challenge and iterate upon our organizational structure. Try bold new things.
  • Develop data, metrics and analytics around our people and our business
  • Provide leadership and guidance to a team of People Operations Generalists and Talent Partners (Recruiters)

Our ideal candidate

  •  10+ years of relevant work experience (People Ops Manager, HRBP, HR Manager, etc.),  including 2+ years supporting a senior leadership team
  • You have prior experience leading a People Ops team; bonus points if you’ve led recruiting teams or worked in a recruitment capacity
  • You have experience providing guidance and establishing best practices on a national level (think: multi-state employee populations)
  • You’ve lived a growth story before and you’ve experienced working in a fast moving  dynamic environment where you owned multiple aspects of people and talent
  • You have demonstrated experience integrating forward-thinking people strategies and initiatives with a company’s business strategies
  • You are gifted with superior communication skills and exceptional EQ
  • You’re experienced in coaching and providing feedback to leaders of all levels

Given the nature of their role within the org, we need the Head of People to have an in-office presence.  Therefore, we are only considering candidates located in the San Francisco Bay area, or who are willing to relocate to the area and can work on a hybrid remote/onsite schedule.

Our award-winning culture is built on core values that drive everything we do, including putting people first. We know experience comes in many different forms, some visible on your resume, others not. No one candidate will be a 100% perfect match to our description, so if you thrive in a fast-paced, intellectually-charged environment and have a similar experience to what we are looking for, we encourage you to apply.

The good stuff:

  • Mission driven. You'll be joining more than just another startup—our members are at the heart of everything we do; in fact, we invite them to co-work in our office and collaborate with us on the product itself.
  • Impact. We move quickly and encourage every employee to push the envelope. Our best ideas come from out-of-the-box-thinking and innovation; be ready to fail fast and often!
  • Compensation: We offer a competitive salary + meaningful equity based on merit.
  • Benefits + Perks: From wellness programs to open paid time off and exceptional family leave policies, the health and happiness of our employees is foremost.
  • Provisions:  We give you the tools you need to get your job done and we provide a fully stocked kitchen and bar, happy hours, catered meals, and awesome company events.
