Here at Hometap, we’re collaborative, passionate, and always ready to roll up our sleeves to create solutions that help people get more out of homeownership — and out of life. Our first product, a home equity investment, gives homeowners the opportunity to quickly access the equity they’ve built in their home to pay for what’s most important to them, from handling debt to finally making much-needed renovations, without taking on debt.

We work hard, and have some fun along the way, too. You don’t have to take our word for it: The Boston Globe and Comparably have recognized us as a great place to work, and we’ve been honored for our commitment to innovation in the fintech space by Inc.HousingWire, and more!

In case you need any more convincing, we also provide competitive compensation, healthcare coverage, unlimited PTO, a generous share package, and a strong culture with plenty of opportunities for team-building and camaraderie.

Interested in joining us on our mission to make homeownership less stressful and more accessible? We’d love to talk.

Who You Are:

We’re looking for a Visual Designer to join our marketing team who loves to think conceptually and execute systematically. As our Visual Designer you will deliver high-quality concepts and visual solutions across marketing touchpoints. A creative problem solver and skilled designer, you will brainstorm big ideas and then execute on them through design and motion, while collaborating with writers, video editors, motion artists, and illustrators to bring the Hometap story to life.

What You’ll Do:

  • Bring conceptual ideas to the table and then execute them through the design process across marketing touchpoints
  • Investigate, understand, and apply business and brand context to design solutions
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand the problem to be solved — and work with writers, video editors, motion graphics artists, and illustrators to bring ideas to life
  • Set the visual direction and create templates (as needed) for email, video, social media, digital ads, and occasionally print
  • Know when to be on brand and when to push the direction to help evolve our visual brand and keep our guidelines fresh
  • Assist with vendor management, sharing feedback with regard to brand and concept. Review final products and suggest improvements if required.
  • Understand channel best practices to create designs that look beautiful and work seamlessly
  • Give and receive feedback; continually contribute your POV while also receiving, synthesizing, and taking action on feedback to make Hometap and the work better
  • Be the connective thread to the design/user experience team — helping to ensure brand consistency throughout the entire Hometap experience

What You’ll Bring:

  • 4-6 years of experience in visual design and/or art direction, with a preference for agency experience
  • Experience ideating and developing a brand story through marketing collateral, advertising, social media, and video
  • Skilled at design software; Figma and Adobe Creative Suite
  • Keen attention to detail
  • Knowledge of or the desire to learn and execute in marketing platforms like Ortto
  • A desire to geek out over marketing KPIs
  • Ability to independently manage and prioritize the delivery of work
  • Presentation skills; the ability to sell your work and explain your rationale
  • Collaborative nature; you love partnering to solve big (and small) problems
  • Continual growth mindset: keeps up with industry, tool, and design trends
  • Digital mindset; thinks mobile first
  • Bonus points for motion graphics or animation skills
