Who you are: 

As a QA Engineer II at Hometap, you will help deliver a world-class homeowner and investor experience. You are passionate about quality, scrupulous, attentive to implementation details, mission driven, and motivated to deliver results. You'll work collaboratively with engineers, product managers and designers to test, iterate, and build upon Hometap’s software products. You'll perform both manual and automated testing and will have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on Hometap's software quality. This is a great opportunity for someone with experience in testing, a team-oriented approach, and a passion for developing best-in-class software.

What you’ll do:

  • QA and regression-test software used to meet our mission of making homeownership less stressful and more accessible by giving homeowners access to liquidity currently locked in their homes
  • Contribute to Hometap's regression testing suite, constantly working to extend it and assist  teams’ efforts toward growing test coverage
  • Partner with the Product team; carry in-depth knowledge of Hometap software, and acceptance-testing new features while covering them with automation
  • Be a key stakeholder in release readiness validation; be empowered to prevent immature software from premature release
  • Work on homegrown tools essential to essential operations across the entire Hometap organization
  • Collaborate with the team to ship software used to process hundreds of millions of dollars worth of homeowner investments

What you’ll bring:

  • 3+ years experience in web application testing
  • Technical expertise and a knack for problem-solving and troubleshooting challenging problems
  • Experience with web QA automation tools and frameworks. You will have the opportunity to contribute significantly to the design and development of our automation framework from the ground up!
  • Familiarity with SDLC concepts and collaborating in a cross-functional environment with engineers, product managers, UX, and business stakeholders
  • An understanding and appreciation of what quality means for software products, and a passionate drive to promote quality standards
  • Proficiency with requirements handling 
  • Outstanding exploratory testing skills. The quality bar on our team is already very high, and you will raise it even higher!

Bonus skills:

  • Experience implementing continuous testing in CI/CD pipelines
  • Experience working in cross-functional Agile teams
  • Experience with security testing
  • Experience with Python and Javascript based frameworks such as React: Key technologies in our stack are Python, Django, Flask, React, Postgres, AWS
  • Experience with Cypress, X-Ray, and Postman
