Head of Market Expansion


As the Head of Market Expansion, you will be responsible for launching Cash Close and Title & Escrow products in new markets in partnership with Product as we scale to hundreds of deals a month in dozens of metros. You will work cross-functionally within HomeLight to evaluate, plan and launch our products in new markets, and once launched you will work closely with both sales and operations to optimize our performance in each market. 


  • Analyze real estate markets to determine where and when we should launch
  • Forecast the business in target markets and track performance against plans
  • Develop the cost model and determine our pricing strategy for each product in each market
  • Customize our transaction operations to meet the regulatory requirements and traditional ways in which real estate transactions occur in each market
  • Collaborate with compliance to ensure our product offering meets all legal requirements for new states in which we operate 
  • Develop training materials to educate sales and operations on the way in which real estate in transacted in each new market
  • Manage and optimize the business in each new market until we hit an ARR of ~$20M in that market
  • Lead a cross-functional project team to launch Cash Close/ Title and Escrow in new markets, including but not limited to:
    • Work with agent sales, product marketing and communications to develop and execute our launch plans and acquisition strategy:
      • With agent sales to determine our partner agent criteria and onboarding plans
      • With product marketing to develop agent and client facing collateral
      • With communications to launch a market specific PR campaigns
    • Work with transaction operations to design and implement the transaction process for new markets
    • Work with HomeLight Home Loans as we launch in new markets to ensure our loan products meet the needs of our clients in new markets
    • Work with HomeLight Home Loans to launch AMC (appraisal management company) partnerships in new markets
    • Work with Capital Markets and Risk to develop our risk framework for new market launches and to get investor approval for new markets
    • Work with HomeLight Closing Services to design our title and escrow process for Cash Close in new markets
    • Work with product and engineering to ensure our external facing websites and internal apps are updated to ensure we can support new states
    • Work with legal to draft all new legal documents for operations in new states
