About Hollywood Park

Hollywood Park, a near 300-acre sports and entertainment destination, is being developed by Los Angeles Rams Owner/Chairman E. Stanley Kroenke with the 70,000-seat SoFi Stadium as its centerpiece. Hollywood Park is the largest urban mixed-use mega development under construction in the Western United States. When complete, Hollywood Park will have up to 2,500 residences, a hotel, a retail district reaching up to 890,000 square feet, up to 5 million square feet of office space, and more than 25-acres of public parks and open space.

Home to the Los Angeles Chargers and Super Bowl LVI Champion Los Angeles Rams, SoFi Stadium is the host of world-renowned sporting events, including Super Bowl LVI in 2022, College Football Playoff National Championship game 2023, WrestleMania 2023, World Cup 2026, and the Opening and Closing Ceremonies of the Olympics in 2028. Adjacent to the stadium and under the same roof canopy is a 2.5-acre open-air plaza, American Airlines Plaza, and the 6,000-seat YouTube Theater. YouTube Theater is an intimate venue, making it the perfect place for concerts, comedy, awards shows, esports competitions, community gatherings, conferences and more.

As an Arborist, You Will..

Primarily be responsible for maintaining over 1400 trees in Hollywood Park’s 300 acre campus, while keeping a natural look. Must be able to handle a schedule that requires a minimum of one tree per hour. Make sure all trees are raised to a safe level for guests to pass under. Coordinate with other landscape leads on seasonal pruning and entries points as needed.

More Specific Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To…

  • Responsible for following all safety procedures and maintaining a safe and secure work environment while servicing trees.
  • Responsible for maintaining and pruning trees, and removing dead or unwanted trees.
  • Inspect trees to identify serious problems, such as; disease or pest conditions, fungus, fruiting bodies, decayed trunks or branches, cracks or other structural weaknesses, or anything indicating a potential hazard and take corrective action.
  • Assess soil and space requirements for new trees.
  • Apply specialized tree fertilizers, or apply pesticides if necessary.
  • Install tree cables, braces, and supports when needed.
  • Use climbing saddle, rope and harness to access and move safely in trees, or reach by aerial truck if not possible.
  • Operate a variety of equipment such as; aerial/boom lift truck, chain saws, root pruner, pole pruner, stump grinder and brush chipper.
  • Inspect and maintain ropes and rigging equipment.
  • Respond to emergency calls regarding fallen trees or limbs.
  • Cutting turf, trimming and edging along borders, and blowing using power equipment
  • Pruning shrubs and low trees to improve the growth habit or remove damaged branches
  • Planting and maintaining flower beds, and applying mulch
  • Picking up trash and debris
  • Performing weeding by hand or using a garden hoe or hula hoe
  • Maintaining a polite, friendly, responsive demeanor with guests and customers
  • Proactively assist in identifying and resolving issues
  • Prioritize maintaining the landscape design and aesthetic, ensuring healthy, flourishing biomes
  • Maintain strong cross-functional relationships throughout the organization
  • Assist with Installation, maintenance, cleaning and removal of Matrax turf protection when needed
  • Assist Turf & Grounds staff with any/all event prep when needed
  • Operate and knowledgeable in light heavy equipment including a tractor, utility vehicles, boom lift and/or forklift
  • Assist with spraying common landscape pests and diseases
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

We’d Love to Hear From People With….

  • High School diploma or equivalency
  • Valid driver's license
  • 2-4 years of experience in tree pruning & maintenance.
  • Preferred – 2 or 4 year degree preferred or equivalent experience in a landscape-related field.
  • Comfortable working at heights and all weather conditions.
  • Strong work ethic with an emphasis in working in a team environment.
  • Good verbal communication skills; ability to convey communications in a clear and precise manner.
  • Valid driver’s license and driving record in good standing.
  • Flexible schedule; Able to work nights, weekends, and holidays as required.
  • Must be able to maneuver quickly and multitask 
  • Must be able to lift and carry 50 lbs., walk, stand, bend, stoop for prolonged periods of time.
  • Knowledge of: Various ropes, knots, and splices used in tree trimming work; different cuts used for felling and limb removal; safety regulations and practices; appropriate rigging procedures; different types of climbing methods; pruning techniques; rope strengths in conjunction with wood weights; operation and service requirements of various types of specialized equipment; and different types of wood in terms of ease or resistance to cuts.
  • Ability to: Climb trees up to of 40 feet in height by means of belts, spurs, and ropes; perform tree trimming tasks at considerable heights above the ground.

Constant movement and use of limbs; this position requires good manual dexterity, coordination, and stamina. Salary Range: $22.00 - $25.00

Hollywood Park considers a candidate’s education, certification, prior experience, as well as internal and external data when determining the salary level for potential new employees. Only in exceptional circumstances, if an external candidate has the experience, credentials, or expertise far exceeding what is expected for the position, would Hollywood Park consider paying a salary or rate near the higher end of the range.
