About You:

We are looking for a highly strategic and results-driven Director of Product Management to lead our Insurance & Operations product team. Based in Austin, TX, this leadership role will be responsible for driving the development and execution of our product strategy, overseeing a talented team of product managers, and working cross-functionally to bring our vision to life.

What You’ll Do:

  •  Lead the development of the product strategy and roadmap for our Hippo Home Insurance and Insurance Operations teams that leverages technology to solve customer problems and deliver business outcomes. Act as the product champion within the company and communicate product vision effectively to both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Lead a high-performing product team of 4-5 PMs / Sr. PMs, helping to coach, empower, and develop their careers. Foster a culture of impact, innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement across the product team.
  • Work closely with engineering, design, data, marketing, operations, and business teams to bring products from concept to market. Ensure timely and successful delivery of products that meet customer needs and drive business value.
  • Deeply understand our customers, their needs, and opportunities using qualitative research and data analysis. Leverage that knowledge to define product requirements and ensure that our offerings are differentiated, competitive, and meet the evolving needs of our customers and partners.
  • Serve as the key point of contact for senior leadership, providing regular updates on product performance, opportunities, and challenges. Present and advocate for product decisions with clear, actionable insights.
  • Stay ahead of industry trends and emerging technologies to drive innovation within our product portfolio. Proactively identify new opportunities to enhance our offerings or create new products that serve the needs of our customers. 
  • Set goals and KPIs to track and manage progress toward your product strategy and business goals..

Must Haves:

  • 8+ years of experience in product management, with at least 3 years in a leadership role managing and scaling product teams. Experience in the insurance or financial services industry is preferred, but not required.
  • Proven track record of leading cross-functional teams and delivering complex, high-impact products. Ability to inspire and motivate a team to achieve ambitious goals. Demonstrated success earning the trust of stakeholders and leading cross-functional initiatives. Strong leadership presence and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and motivate people at all levels from executives to ICs across a broad variety of job functions.  
  • Strong ability to think strategically and develop long-term product roadmaps. Comfortable balancing long-term vision with short-term execution priorities. Cultivates a deep understanding of business, technology, and customer needs and how to translate them into innovative product solutions.
  • Passionate about solving problems. Willing to roll up your sleeves to directly execute. Come up with hypotheses, implement, measure, and iterate toward success. Eagerly embraces complex, ambiguous, volatile situations. 
  • Data-driven decision-making skills and a deep understanding of metrics that drive product success. Ability to quickly analyze data to identify trends, opportunities, and areas of improvement.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to clearly articulate product strategies, goals, and roadmaps to diverse audiences, including senior executives, engineers, designers, and customers.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. 

Nice to Haves:

  • Experience in insurance or financial services a preferred
  • MBA or advanced degree is a plus
