Join our team at Hims and Hers Health, Inc. (Hims & Hers) as a Senior Virtualization Engineer.  We're a groundbreaking multi-specialty telehealth platform, revolutionizing healthcare accessibility. With a focus in VMs, public/private cloud virtualization, infrastructure automation, and secondary focus in networking, your role directly impacts how we connect consumers to licensed healthcare professionals, making better health easily attainable.  You should be a forward thinking, innovative individual driven to identify updated tactics to traditional and/or complex problems.

You Will:

  • Create, Design, implement, and maintain server and system architecture focusing on but not limited to VMware, MS HyperV, Azure, and AWS cloud infrastructure at Hims and Hers Health.
  • Monitor and ensure all VM / network systems are working correctly.
  • Ensure the stability, Integrity, and efficient operation of in-house information systems that support core organizational functions at Hims and Hers Health.
  • Troubleshooting inefficiencies and errors with systems/VMs.
  • Standardize existing deployments for server and storage virtualization.
  • Maintain Disaster Recovery options for VMs / Networks.  Technologies may include VMotion, VCenter HA, and Hyper-V Live Migration.
  • Build and maintain SOPs, best practice and hardening documentation, and other internal reference documentation.
  • Develop, maintain, and own system patching schedules on a predictable cadence.
  • Familiarity with cloud-based remote access through ZTNA applications such as Netskope, Zscaler, and similar platforms.
  • General understanding of network technologies such as switching and wireless.
  • Experience with system integrations for Zero Trust Network Access platforms like Netskope, ZScaler, or other ZTNA platforms.
  • Experience with maintaining vendor relationships for relevant environments. 
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to align VM, Server, and Storage architecture with business needs, security standards, and our dynamic telehealth environment.
  • Provide technical leadership, guiding junior engineers to optimize our network within the context of healthcare innovation.
  • Ensure server and storage environment stability, performance, and security, supporting uninterrupted healthcare services.
  • Proactively Evaluate and Implement security measures specific to Hims and Hers Health, safeguarding sensitive data and ensuring compliance.
  • Conduct server/storage infrastructure assessments, enhancing our security posture and service quality.
  • Stay updated with industry trends, adapting to telehealth's unique demands.
  • Collaborate with vendors and respond to server and infrastructure emergencies to ensure seamless user experience.
  • Participate in on-call rotations, reflecting our commitment to patient well-being.

You Have:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field (preferred but not required).
  • 5+ years of data center, server, and/or storage engineering experience.
  • Experience with server design, data center architecture, and server topology.
  • Expertise in traditional server virtualization, AWS and Azure cloud infrastructure.
  • Experience in VMware Audits, Utilization, and NIC teaming.
  • In-depth understanding of infrastructure and server security in a healthcare context.
  • Relevant certifications: VMware VCP-DCV, Microsoft WSHAA.
  • Proficiency in server monitoring, troubleshooting, and communication.
  • Proficiency in cloud environments as well as on-prem.
  • Strong problem-solving skills in healthcare innovation.
  • Ability to lead and mentor junior engineers.
  • Ability to communicate with technical and non-technical personnel.
  • Scripting and automation skills and familiarity with: JSON, YAML, and Ansible (a plus).
  • Experience with architecture designing software (e.g. Visio).
  • Proficiency participating in a Change Management process.
  • Some travel may be required as needed to our sites across the United States

Outlined below is a reasonable estimate of H&H’s compensation range for this role for US-based candidates. If you're based outside of the US, your recruiter will be able to provide you with an estimated salary range for your location.

The actual amount will take into account a range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, and location. H&H also offers a comprehensive Total Rewards package that may include an equity grant.

$120,000$140,000 USD
