The Accounting team manages month-end close processes for multiple subsidiaries, annual audit in compliance with GAAP standards, regulatory compliance matters and day-to-day accounting operations. To support the growth of business operations, we have created a role of Staff Accountant to take on key responsibilities for the month-end close process and general ledger accuracy.
Assist with the daily, weekly and monthly accounting tasks designed to maintain accurate general ledger activity
Assist with the month-end close process, including completing account reconciliations and preparing/posting manual journal entries, in a timely and accurate manner
Assist in re-designing and simplifying processes to enable shortening of the month-end close schedule
Supervise and review the work performed by the outsourced accounting team
Prepare new training instructions for the outsourced accounting team
Prepare internal and external reporting of month-end close results
Assist with ad-hoc accounting projects, including preparation of schedules and reconciliations in connection with the financial statement audit and regulatory filings
Perform accounting responsibilities to comply with public company Sarbanes-Oxley Act compliance requirements and testing
Support annual audits performed by external auditors
Take ownership and initiative for accounting process improvements and process documentation
Experience & Skills:
3+ years of experience in the accounting profession, with a public accounting or public company experience required
BA or BS degree in accounting, business administration or economics required
CPA or CPA track strongly preferred
Top level critical thinking and analytical skills
Detail-oriented and exceptionally organized
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Ability to think through complex problems, determine proper processes, and derive accounting conclusions and present results to the team
Able to multi-task, prioritize, and manage projects/tasks in a fast-paced environment
Ability to be a team player, and ability to work well in both In-Person & Remote work environments
