We’re looking for a senior backend engineer to work on building the internals of our platform. We want to build a system that enables fast development of future products. You’re someone who can look not just at initial development, but ongoing maintenance and monitoring. You’ve got an eye towards delivery and developer experience, and everything you do can be built upon in the future by others.
Implement ongoing security enhancements
Build and support API feature development and scalability for growth
Collaborate closely with front end teams to design robust and reliable backend APIs Routinely inspect server code for speed optimization
Conceptualize and implement solutions for data storage
Experience & Skills:
5+ year experience in a related field
Large capacity for attention to detail
Ability to move quickly and meet tight deadlines
Capable of prioritizing multiple project in order to meet goals without management oversight
Proficiency in Postgres & Java or Kotlin
New backend software written at Hims & Hers will be written in Kotlin
Experience with in-database development (PL/pgSQL is a strong plus)
Previous experience working with multiple platforms such as Desktop, Mobile, Tablet etc
Experience with ecommerce, SKU management, and/or physical goods as the primary business
