Role Overview
Hillels of Georgia is seeking a creative and experienced professional to become its next Development and Marketing Manager in Atlanta, Georgia. This dual-role position is responsible for advancing the organization’s mission by managing all aspects of marketing and communications while driving fundraising and development efforts. The Development and Marketing Manager will develop Hillel’s public image, foster donor engagement, and strengthen community connections through innovative campaigns, events, and storytelling. This position reports directly to the Chief Development Officer.
What You’ll Do
Development Responsibilities
- Partner with the Chief Development Officer to create and implement a comprehensive fundraising strategy.
- Develop compelling donor-centric appeals and targeted campaigns for email, direct mail, and social media.
- Manage phone-a-thons and peer-to-peer fundraising campaigns.
- Oversee donor stewardship initiatives, including personalized acknowledgment letters and impact reports.
- Provide support for fundraising events, such as galas, parlor meetings, and donor appreciation gatherings.
- Research and identify prospective donors and maintain donor data in the CRM database (Little Green Light).
- Assist in tracking grant deliverables.
- Create and share donor impact stories through various communication channels
Marketing Responsibilities
- Design and execute a robust marketing and communications strategy for Hillels of Georgia and affiliated campus Hillels.
- Prepare regular e-newsletters, stewardship emails, and appeals, managing the mass email system (Constant Contact).
- Manage Hillels of Georgia’s social media platforms, websites, and online forms.
- Develop and maintain collateral materials, including brochures, newsletters, and event programs.
- Create and sustain brand cohesion across all platforms and materials.
- Design and source Hillels of Georgia swag and supervise campus swag production.
- Source and edit blogs, student testimonials, and videos to assist in storytelling and engagement.
- Serve as a liaison with community partners and media when appropriate.
General Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the development team to integrate marketing strategies into fundraising initiatives.
- Support programmatic and operational needs by creating materials that align with Hillel’s vision and values.
- Stay informed about nonprofit marketing and fundraising trends and best practices.
What You’ll Bring to the Role
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field preferred but not required.
- 5+ years of experience in marketing, fundraising, and nonprofit development.
- Knowledge of Jewish culture and tradition with a commitment to Hillel’s mission and values. Experience in Jewish communal service preferred.
- Outstanding written and oral communication skills.
- Strong knowledge of fundraising principles, donor stewardship, and CRM systems.
- Proficiency in Canva or other graphic design tools; experience with Constant Contact and Wix preferred.
- Ability to multitask and manage multiple projects with competing deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

- Competitive salary in the nonprofit marketplace. The salary range for this position is $65,000–$75,000.
