About the role :
Our Account Managers are both relationship builders and new business hunters. As the first point of contact for our customers, you’ll manage, grow, and nurture lasting relationships, all while identifying opportunities to upsell and expand revenue. Alongside this, you’ll actively seek new business to grow heycar’s customer base and drive market penetration.
You’ll combine your deep understanding of our customers’ needs with strategic account management and business development to deliver results that contribute to the company’s growth and success.
We also know that some of the best relationships are built in person, so being comfortable on the road and understanding the importance of face-to-face meetings will be key to your success. You’ll regularly visit dealerships and attend industry events to establish deeper connections and drive business growth.
What you’ll do :
- Manage & Grow Existing Accounts: Strengthen and expand relationships with key customers by understanding their businesses, solving problems, and spotting new revenue opportunities.
- Drive Revenue Growth: Develop and implement account strategies that not only foster long-term relationships but also meet revenue and ROI targets. Identify upsell and cross-sell opportunities within current accounts.
- New Business Development: Actively hunt for new business, reaching out to potential clients, and leveraging industry connections to expand our customer base.
- On-the-Road Meetings: Conduct face-to-face meetings with clients and prospects to build stronger relationships and get a deeper understanding of their needs. You’ll also attend industry events to network and promote heycar’s products.
- Customer Engagement & Support: Provide exceptional customer service to retain current accounts and minimise churn, ensuring satisfaction with our products and services.
- Consultative Selling: Educate customers on industry best practices, leveraging internal data and insights to tailor digital products that drive growth and efficiency for their businesses.
- Market Engagement: Build relationships within the automotive and technology sectors, attending industry events to network and promote heycar’s products and solutions.
- Internal Collaboration: Work with internal teams to ensure smooth product delivery and service execution, and relay customer feedback to help shape product, marketing, and pricing strategies.
- Proactive Account Management: Conduct regular check-ins with customers to ensure they are maximising value from our offerings and address any concerns or challenges they face.
- Revenue Accountability: Be responsible for both expanding relationships with existing customers and collecting bad debt for allocated retailers.
What you’ll need :
- Account Management + Sales Expertise: Proven experience driving revenue growth through account management and new business development.
- Industry Knowledge: While not essential, experience in or knowledge of the automotive industry is a plus.
- Sales Acumen: Strong commercial skills with the ability to understand client needs and spot potential opportunities using data and market insights.
- Comfortable on the Road: A willingness to travel and conduct face-to-face meetings with clients, understanding the value of in-person interactions to build trust and grow business.
- Customer-Focused Problem Solving: Excellent questioning, listening, and problem-solving abilities to ensure customers achieve their commercial objectives.
- Strategic Thinking: Proficiency in using account planning methods to develop long-term customer relationships while also driving short-term results.
- High-Energy & Adaptability: Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, and deliver results both independently and as part of a team.
- Strong Communication & Rapport Building: Excellent interpersonal skills to develop relationships with internal and external stakeholders across the automotive industry.
- Organisational Skills: Highly organised with exceptional time management, attention to detail, and a focus on delivering high-quality work.
- Resilience & Initiative: A proactive, results-driven attitude with the ability to challenge the status quo and dive into problem-solving when needed.
