JOB SUMMARY
The Outbound Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the outbound logistics operations, ensuring efficient and accurate order fulfillment. This role involves managing a team of warehouse staff, coordinating shipping activities, and optimizing processes to meet customer delivery expectations.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Supervise, train, and mentor outbound warehouse staff, ensuring operations commitment to ship 98% of orders within SLA and 99.7% of orders out with zero quality issues.
Oversee the picking, packing, and shipping processes to ensure timely and accurate order fulfillment.
Analyze workflow processes and implement improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce errors.
Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with the inventory team to ensure stock availability for outbound orders.
Prepares bills of lading; checks items to be shipped against work orders to ascertain that quantities, destination, and routing are correct.
Conduct regular quality checks on outgoing shipments to ensure compliance with company standards and customer requirements.
Ensure that all transactions are recorded in warehouse management software (LISA).
Manage shipping schedules, liaising with carriers and vendors to ensure timely and cost-effective transportation.
Promote and enforce safety protocols and procedures in the outbound area to maintain a safe work environment.
Prepare and maintain reports on outbound operations, including productivity metrics, shipping accuracy, and team performance.
Work closely with other departments, including inbound receiving, customer service, and sales, to resolve issues and improve overall operations.
QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or equivalent; degree in logistics, business, or related field preferred.
3-5 years of experience in warehouse operations, with 1+ year(s) in a supervisory role, preferred.
Proficient in warehouse management systems and Microsoft Office Suite; knowledge of shipping software is a plus.
Strong leadership abilities with experience in team development and performance management.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with diverse teams.
Bilingual (Spanish), preferred.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make decisions quickly and effectively.
