JOB SUMMARY

As a Sustainability Program Manager, you will work with the VP of Product Advancement to define, implement, and track HexArmor’s Sustainability strategy, objectives, and projects to help ensure the expected outputs are achieved across the organization.

The position will help outline, manage, and measure defined sustainability initiatives. The position will help outline, manage, and measure defined initiatives, which will allow you to work across the organization’s key functions (operations, finance, marketing, category management, and product management/development) and our key suppliers.  Additionally, when needed, you will work with our sales and global account teams to help existing and prospective customers find solutions for their Sustainability needs.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • The overarching position responsibility is to support the organizational development and execution of stated sustainability goals and objectives, including our compliance with regulatory requirements such as the European Union’s CSRD Directive.
  • Effectively manage Sustainability projects to their completion by working with HexArmor’s functional teams, including Uvex in Germany
  • To monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of sustainability programs and, when needed, recommend changes to close strategic gaps
  • To actively research regulatory compliance requirements that impact company operations
  • Work with our Operations team to define and implement Sustainable practices that positively impact company operations, thereby reducing our waste and carbon footprint
  • Develop communication materials for company employees regarding a company’s sustainability goals
  • Working with marketing to develop marketing and communication materials for our sales teams and customers
  • Engage directly with our sales organization, suppliers, and customers to support customer initiatives, education, and training of HexArmor
  • Creating value for customers through the development of Sustainability programs, delivering solutions addressing critical pain points
  • Work with Product Development and Product Management to ensure Sustainability characteristics are included in future products and services
  • Consulting, advising, and training on green, energy-efficient products, recycling programs, and product substitutions
  • Implement and create a SOP that define product carbon scores using SimaPro software
  • Provide a monthly update tracking progress, including financial impact, financial efficiency, KPIs, sales, etc.
  • Organize company-wide environmental volunteer activities, impacting the local community

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s Degree: degree in Business, Science, Environmental, or Sustainability

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience in project management. PM Certification preferred.
  • Preferred: related industry experience (working knowledge of corporate environmental, social, and governance programs)
  • Experience working with Life-Cycle Assessment (LCA) Software (SimaPro)
  • Excellent written and oral skills
  • Willingness to travel up to 20% plus, including international travel
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office applications
  • Knowledge and experience in Adobe Creative Suite are a plus
  • Highly motivated, self-directed, organized, and customer service oriented
  • Strong organization, planning, and project management skills
