Position Overview:
Join our Engineering Shared Services pod / team to build the backbone of Henry Meds' engineering ecosystem. Drive innovation by creating reusable libraries, frameworks, and robust backend services that empower our entire engineering department. Shape the future of healthcare technology while enhancing developer experience and setting new standards for code quality and security.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Build robust, well engineered backend services that are usable for peers.
- Improve developer experience by creating reusable libraries and frameworks
- Enhance user experience, reliability, and feature sets of existing shared services
- Validate technologies and approaches to achieve development objectives.
- Collaborate across teams and departments to ensure business objectives are achieved.
- Design, implement, and maintain solutions used across engineering
- Collaborate with engineers across the engineering department to identify opportunities and source requirements
- Assist other teams in adopting new patterns, technologies, practices
- Assess and install automated guardrails for code quality, security, etc.
- Mentor and guide other developers.
- Conduct architecture reviews.
- Improve engineering standards, tooling, and processes.
- Work to automate and support workflows across the business
You will likely have:
- 6+ years of experience building successful production software systems
- Strong proficiency in at least one backend programming language (.Net/C#, Python, Java, Go, etc)
- Experience working in cloud environments.
- Familiarity with backend technologies and concepts like APIs, Data & Application Security, DevOps
- Experience with end-to-end development including testing, CI/CD
- Experience with at least one SQL dialect
- Experience designing and architecting scalable solutions
- Strong collaboration and communication skills
- Experience building libraries, tools and frameworks to grow and diversify product catalog.
- Self-starter that can handle ambiguity and take an idea to a product independently.
- Experience with / understanding of event driven systems & infrastructure
- .Net/C#
- Typescript / Node / Deno
- Google Cloud Platform (GCP )
- Experience / familiarity with common database technologies and patterns like SQL (Postgres), NoSQL, etc.
- DataDog
- GraphQL (Apollo, Hasura)
- Familiarity / understanding of data compliance & certification (HIPAA, SOC2, etc)
- Infrastructure-as-code (IaC) (Terraform, cloud formation, etc)
- Containerization
