What You Will Be Doing:
Helion is hiring a Senior Fusion Technician to assemble Helion’s fusion generators and subscale plasma devices. This position provides a unique opportunity to support the development of hardware, lead full-scale builds, and coach fellow technicians on the Production Team.
You Will:
- Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team to assemble, test, and troubleshoot electromechanical components
- Integrate electromechanical components and systems to the fusion generator’s primary structure
- Design and fabricate fixtures to aid in the assembly of electromechanical components
- Coach technicians, helping to develop their technical skills
- Ensure safety & quality standards are met throughout the entire production process
Required Skills:
- Experience as an Electrical or Mechanical Technician focused on rapid prototyping and iteration
- Experience using light fabrication tools (various power tools, mills, lathes, etc.) and operating heavy-duty machinery (forklift, boom/scissor lift, bridge crane, etc.)
- Ability to squat, reach, climb, and stand for extended periods of time
- Able to lift up to 50lbs
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with pulsed-power electronics or vacuum systems
- Experience designing parts/fixtures in CAD software
- Ability to read and understand technical drawings, manuals, and reports
- Demonstrated adaptability in a quickly-changing environment
Per Washington Equal Pay and Opportunity Act the range for this position is $32/hr - $40/hr. Actual salary is based on education, experience, and other qualifying skill sets.
