We use the Monte Carlo N-Particle (MCNP) code to model, test, analyze, and optimize designs. In this role, you will use MCNP (and related codes) to model our fusion generator, diagnostic equipment, dose, and interactions with the environment; write internal reports to document your findings; and grow your MCNP techniques.

Experience writing input files, running MCNP6, and using MATLAB or Python scripts to process data,
Willingness to continue education and learn more on the job,
Bachelors or postgraduate degree in nuclear engineering, physics, mathematics, or related field, or equivalent Experience with MCNP and fundamentals of nuclear physics

Desired Experience (not required)

Using SpaceClaim to model simple geometries,
Activation analysis using ORIGEN/SCALE, FISPACT, SERPENT, or similar codes,
Understanding of shielding and common rules/materials for neutrons and photons,
Involvement in professional societies such as the American Nuclear Society and/or IEEE.

Per Washington Equal Pay and Opportunity Act the range for this position is $113k - $170k. Actual salary is based on education, experience, and other qualifying skill sets.
