We've been unit profitable for 18 months + and have recently turned EBITDA profitable as well. 👩‍💻 The Role:

Product Design is a fast-growing team at Headout of creative, collaborative, strategic people who care deeply about defining new paradigms for our products. You’ll get to work with a cross-functional team {ex: designer, researcher, and writers} working together to build a global travel platform for the users to rely on Headout to create their memorable moments via experiences.

In this role, you will lead a lion’s share of the product design initiatives right from the word go and while you are at it, elevate our design practices throughout the team. There is a company-wide eagerness to drive strategy through design and You are expected to be the face of it via driving significant areas. You need to be world class in at least one discipline.

  • Craft: A talented systems thinker and problem solver who can connect the dots between various user groups and industry workflows and turn them into simple and intuitive design solutions and flows. Constantly exploring concepts, tweaking flows, or refining designs that represent the big-picture work. You will actively organize for teams around you to participate in user-focused development, advocating for the user at all stages. You will define and improve the styling and experience of your product set by leading and guiding others work, with effective critique.
  • Lead: You’ll work to develop good positive relationships and volunteer in initiatives that harness collaboration. You’ll help carve the narrative of the product vision, and design's role within it and present that vision with conviction to stakeholders. You’ll be informally managing a few junior designers.

🎨 What skills & experience do you need?

  • You have at least 5 years of experience designing digital products (for Mobile and Web) in cross-functional product teams.
  • You own and drive the UX and Product metrics for your team: You take responsibility for the entire design process from initial research, ideation, conceptualization and design, to testing and validation.
  • You turn user problems detected across all feedback channels into product opportunities: Work with small multi-disciplinary teams and partner closely with engineering, product, research, and customers to find innovative and practical solutions to design challenges.
  • You strive to enhance the delightfulness: You design mobile and web interfaces that are incredibly simple, elegant, and enjoyable for users. 
  • You always contribute to design excellence and consistency: You are no stranger to working with, and contributing to design systems in your day-to-days. This means documenting it well for the entire team
  • Lead and empower your team with UX expertise: You work on conceptual design, research, prototyping, detailed design, usability testing and implementation to support the team.
  • Mentor and inspire designers: You actively mentor more junior members of the team and are a strong voice and advocate for design around the company.
  • Set high standards for the hiring process: You’re a big part of our interview process and help us to attract top talent to the Design team and ensure we’re always raising the bar whenever we hire.

🥰 Nice to have:

  • You have experience working in a start-up or B2C organization.
  • You have some history of working on side/hobby/indie projects.
  • You have experience working on Framer/Webflow or know to build seamless prototypes.
