As Retail Sales and Operations Manager, you will manage our Burrow and Citizenry retail stores overseeing the daily operations and leading our team of amazing salespeople to exceed ambitious growth and profitability goals.
What You’ll Do:
- People Management – Lead and support Retail General Managers and their store associates at each location by providing regular coaching and guidance on how to achieve sales and profitability targets
- Retail Merchandising – Collaborate with Product Designers, Creative, Marketing, and General Managers to properly merchandise each store with the right products, in the best layout, styled appropriately and in line with the Burrow and Citizenry brands
- Work closely with the merchandising and operations team on inventory fulfillment at the Citizenry locations
- Trade – Collaborate with cross-functional partners to maintain and grow relationships with trade partners and collaborate with CX/Operations on fulfilling trade orders when needed
- Staffing – Collaborate with HR and each General Manager to ensure proper staffing; review and approve weekly staffing schedules
- P&L Management – Manage to budgets for each location with an eye on profitability
- Product Training – Maintain / update existing product training guides and create new product training guides for retail employees
- Sales Training – Collaborate with external sales coaches / consultants to create sales training guides and training schedules for each retail store
- Reporting – Report weekly on traffic, conversion rate, sales, and other KPIs for each store
- Process Improvement – Continually refine our internal processes for (a) staffing, (b) standard operating procedures, and (c) in-store merchandising changes driven by seasonality, state of product on the floor, and new product launches
- Store Support – Help retail stores daily through troubleshooting, system compliance, transaction auditing and overall operations support & supply ordering
- Culture – Build a high-energy culture of fun and engagement focused on sales results and excellent customer experience
Who You Are:
- You have 7+ of experience in sales management, and people management at high growth consumer facing companies.
- You possess exceptional analytical skills. You’re able to structure and process qualitative and quantitative data. You understand the nuances and complexities of data but act as a simplifier, realizing that data and insights are only powerful if they drive action.
- You understand the opportunities and challenges that growth companies face, and can operate in complex systems with a tremendous appetite to test programs and change existing paradigms.
- You have a deep understanding of sales processes, challenges, and pipeline management.
- You’re an incredible people leader, having experience managing in-house orgs of talented people and achieving or exceeding KPIs through the team
- You have a track record of recruiting, nurturing, and retaining high-performers.
- You have a strong problem-solving track record - you’re able to think critically through unique problems with no set playbook and quickly implement a path to a solution, and you can toggle effortlessly between big picture strategy and in-the-weeds tactical problem-solving.
- You are a holistic business thinker, and can actively balance the competing needs in an organization to benefit the whole of the business.
- You thrive when operating in resource light environments. You can marshal change without a large budget or multitudes of people.

Additional Details:
- This is a full-time exempt position and must be located in Chicago, New York or Denver.
- Base pay is $115,000.
