As a Strategy Manager on the Strategy team, you’ll report to the VP of Strategic Finance & Corporate Development, analyzing and developing growth strategies for our design services business. This role works closely with all functions across our organization as an advocate for the business line to achieve financial goals and strategic objectives. This person will be responsible for developing overall strategy, tracking performance, and reporting internally.
The right candidate will be a metrics-oriented, strategic e-commerce leader with an ability to identify, build, and execute initiatives that optimize financial results, operational metrics, and designer / client outcomes. They will also have outstanding partnership skills (internal and external), can balance strategic and tactical work, and will quickly learn how things work at Havenly and with our partners.
What You’ll Do:
- Oversee and execute key strategic initiatives for the Havenly brand to drive growth and profitability:
- Help define which business areas to prioritize for overall performance of Havenly, driving towards ambitious revenue and EBITDA goals.
- Track, analyze, and report on shifts in performance for both the Havenly design services and Havenly marketplace business lines
- Partner with senior leaders across departments to guide business planning and performance, providing data-driven insights and thought leadership
- Help set the design services brand direction and vision amongst Havenly's brand portfolio.
- Understand the overall customer journey, including identifying and refining the core customer, as well as expansion opportunities, to help inform marketing, merchandising, and UX decisions.
- Analyze merchandise revenue and margin performance to identify trends and opportunities for our promotional strategy, product catalog, and vendor matrix. Proactively use these insights to drive meaningful change and improvements across the business.
- Support cross-functional efforts across the Sales and Growth departments to align teams on strategic priorities:
- Collaborate with the Growth, Design Services, and Sales teams to develop and execute marketing strategies.
- Ensure our customer acquisition efforts are aligned with growth targets, with a strong understanding of the importance of supply and demand for the services business.
- Drive sales growth through customer acquisition and retention initiatives.
- Analyze marketing expenditures and customer acquisition costs to efficiently grow the business.
- Develop an understanding of our acquisition playbook to identify and lead cross-brand efforts for Havenly across our portfolio of brands
- Drive operational efficiency with a strong understanding of financial and strategic goals for the Havenly brand:
- Use financial results and trend data to deliver on key merchandising metrics (i.e. revenue, margin) and monitor key operational metrics (i.e. return rate, cancel rate).
- Align our designer and customer-facing experiences with industry-leading e-commerce expectations, and serve as a resource on best practices as we continue to build out these capabilities.
- Oversee Vendor Scorecard to ensure the strength of our external partnerships.
- Build processes and tools in an efficient manner as the business continues to scale.
- Partner with the technology and customer service team to enhance customer experience.
Who You Are:
- Bachelor's degree, or equivalent experience, in business, management, or a related field; MBA strongly preferred.
- 3+ years experience in strategy consulting or investment banking, with a preferred focus on consumer or e-commerce businesses.
- A love of the home furnishings market, and an innate sense of curiosity about different brands within the market, as well as trends in the market.
- Strong strategic planning and problem-solving skills.
- Strong analytical skills, including financial modeling, and P&L management experience.
- Executive-level communication abilities and presence.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
Additional Details:
- This is a hybrid full-time exempt position headquartered in Denver, CO. The expectation for this role is that the individual will be onsite 3+ days per week.
- Targeted compensation range for this role: $90-110K/year plus performance bonus, dependent upon experience.
