About Us

There is nothing like the feeling of a good night’s sleep. Cozy, wrapped-up-in-a-heavy-blanket sleep. Fire crackling, curtains drawn, DO NOT DISTURB kind of sleep. *Hygge stuff. That’s the kind of sleep we’re talking about. 85% of people agree sleep is a key to their wellbeing, but more than 50% of people are unsatisfied with their own sleep. Whether it’s stress, interruption, work, children, people need help getting great rest!

Hatch is on a mission to help everyone in the family get great sleep. Getting high quality sleep improves focus, energy, and performance no matter what you love to do in your life. We make bedside sleep devices and original content to help people wind down, sleep deeply and rise rested and relaxed. Led by Rest, the #1 baby registry item on Amazon, and Restore, our Award-winning adult focused product, we have helped over 3 million sleepers of all ages find space for rest in their lives.

The Opportunity

Hatch is looking for a Director of Marketing Operations to help crack our mar-comms organization into shape. Hatch as a company has always been operationally strong, and we want to bring that expertise directly into the marketing organization. The right candidate will work closely to optimize and improve the workflows of the discrete marketing functions, the integrated operation of the team as a whole, and design effective collaboration with cross functional partners like content, product and retail. You will also benefit from working closely with the strong operational leaders that help us manufacture, design and produce our hardware and software products.

Until now, Hatch has been mostly a Direct Response marketer. As we work to cement the existing love for our brand and expand further into the grown-up sleep category, we are increasing our investment in a full scope marketing department. We want Hatch to be an earned media machine, driven by savvy PR, smart, fast social media, and undeniable campaign creativity. It will take a savvy operations leader to help us ensure our creative work is scoped, produced, and delivered on time and on budget. The marketing ops director will work directly with the CMO and the rest of the marketing organization leaders. Come join us as we continue to grow in a market worth over $30B in the US alone.

What You’ll Do

Within 3 Months:

  • You’ll take stock of the various marketing functions and their core operational processes. You’ll immerse yourself in the Hatch business and our core 2023 initiatives and form a theory about how we could optimize marketing operations at Hatch and capture it in a strategic plan. You’ll build foundational relationships with your cross-functional partners and peers.

Within 6 Months:

  • You’ll begin to put your strategic plan into action. You’ll begin to modify and improve our strategic planning process, documentation, tools, production and partnerships. You’ll teach our marketing leaders how to fish and help everyone clear the space to focus on the most strategic and creative work. You’ll focus on the big rocks, first. You’ll communicate the work to our stakeholders and leadership. You’ll produce your first campaigns and see them alive in market.

After 1 Year:

  • You will be credited with helping the marketing department grow into an efficient, respected, and creative marketing organization. Your partners will say “I could not have done this without you,” and even the most ardent skeptics will glow about your work. You will have built lifelong work relationships with operational and strategic leaders around the business.

What You’ll Bring

  • You’re a 5-star leader and manager. You know how to find and attract young talent and motivate people to do their best work.
  • You understand business, you know how to operate at an executive level, and you can absorb a lot of ambiguous information to make smart decisions quickly.
  • You’re a natural networker. You know how to build great relationships inside and outside the company and are not afraid to insert yourself where necessary.
  • You’re organized and you’ve never met a broken workflow you didn’t like.
  • You’ve got a deep set of case references to help us select the right framework for a job, you understand available tools, and have a network of peers to call upon.
  • You’re a great communicator and are allergic to ambiguity
  • You’ve got an eye and respect for creativity and are eager to partner with creative functions to make their ideas even better
  • You’ve got grit and hunger
  • You’ve got experience working in complex organizations but with the understanding of how startups can be different. You will help us bridge the gap between the two, implementing solid planning best-practices but avoid over-engineering.
  • You’ve worked in operations for at least 10 years with relevant brands and campaigns under your belt and can comfortably demonstrate your impact.
