The Design Team at Harry’s Inc. is a centralized function that works with all of the company's brands including: Harry’s, Flamingo, and Headquarters across all regions. We focus specifically on the design and development of physical assets including: packaging, physical products, in-store displays and print collateral.

About the role

As an International Graphic Designer, you’ll work with creative strategies and design solutions originating in the NYC brand teams, alongside ideating on entirely new and unique graphics. In all cases these will stem from a clear understanding of our user's needs and the business’s goals. You will take into consideration important cultural nuances to ensure the global brand identity is reflected in a manner befitting the regional target audience. Your scope to further influence ideation will increase hand in hand with brand experience and the international teams’ expansion plans. You’ll flawlessly execute on design-driven initiatives, specifically packaging, in-store merchandising and art direction for the Harry’s and Flamingo brands across the UK/EU/CA regions. 

A passion for design and typography is a must! You will help push us forward, take calculated risks, and bring a wealth of ideas to the table. We are looking for a talented self-starter with a robust graphic design skill set. You will have strong experience in retail displays, origination of assets and localisation of packaging designs (including translations).

What you will accomplish:

  • Develop creative assets including: packaging, print collateral and brand collaborations
  • Create bold, captivating retail displays to set Harry's brands apart from the rest
  • Translation work - taking packaging, store display graphics and artwork created in English and rolling out into the required european language variations
  • Apply and adapt the brands’ global visual identity systems to suit local market/s
  • Ensure all creative efforts accurately represent project goals and maintain brand values
  • Continually explore opportunities to enhance, improve, and expand brand values
  • Build mockups and create dynamic presentations to tell your story to stakeholders with clear rationale behind your decision making
  • Work cross-functionally through the design process to make sure that projects maintain timing, quality and budgets
  • See the business and collaborative process from a 360 degree view - humbly get other's perspectives and inputs and apply them tactfully into your work
  • Stay inspired and connected to the industry and design trends, sharing knowledge and expertise with others across the organization
  • National and international travel to EU/UK/CA partners and retailers as needed, alongside incremental trips to our New York HQ

This should describe you:

  • 5+ years experience in design and typography, spanning multiple project types
  • Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design
  • Demonstrable experience in retail displays and packaging
  • An exceptional portfolio showcasing innovative design solutions
  • Resilient, ability to work independently, prioritize, multitask and adapt with minimal supervision
  • Demonstrable experience with the following toolkit software packages:
    • Adobe PS, AI, InDesign
    • Google Suite
  • Has and maintains current knowledge of industry and trends in retail:
  • Working knowledge of UK retail is a must
  • Knowledge of European and/or Canadian retailers is a strong plus
  • Ability to speak multiple languages (specifically German/French/Dutch) a strong plus in relation to packaging localisation and translation tasks
  • Experience with building and adapting design systems with an understanding of how this applies to, and controls large projects such as packaging translations
  • Super passionate about design and the process
  • Skilled in the visual, written, and verbal communication of design issues
  • Effective problem-solving and efficient decision-making skills
  • Great interpersonal skills, with the ability to develop relationships across all levels
  • Someone who will celebrate wins and recognise others’ exceptional performance
  • Appetite to both give and solicit feedback when working with cross-functional teams on process improvements
  • Learner - always seeking to improve yourself, your team, and the world around you

Here’s who you’ll work with

  • Reporting to the EU/UK Director Of Store Design and Development.
  • You will be part of the global design team comprising industrial, store, imagery and print specialists
  • You will work very closely with US brand teams’ graphic designers and art directors
  • You will collaborate both globally and locally with cross-functional brand, retail, and operations teams.
