Job Summary

 

The Vice President of Investor Relations & Communications will work directly with the CEO and CFO and other senior company executives within Harrow to develop and implement Harrow’s Investor Relations and communications strategy. The position will be responsible for managing external communications, assuring effective, compelling, and consistent communication with current and prospective shareholders, financial analysts who are covering and who may cover Harrow, plus other relevant audiences. This position will serve as the company contact and media spokesperson and will oversee all related programs. The position will also be responsible for communicating the Harrow story by articulating the company strategy and progress through press releases, representation and presentations at industry and financial conferences, the development of company materials such as investor presentations and other communication devices, and will manage the content of Harrow’s corporate websites and social media persona. The VP of Investor Relations & Communications will also regularly provide counsel, insights and updates to senior management and the Board regarding investor sentiment, ownership composition, investor targeting, trading dynamics, valuation relative to peers and other IR-related matters.  At times, the position may also require involvement in communicating with other companies and third parties supporting in-licensing, out‑licensing or partnering efforts for HROW. Stellar communication and analytical skills are necessary, as well as relevant experience in the pharmaceutical industry. Experience managing investor communications, creating public company investor content, and other corporate external communications, as well as writing and content creation skills, are essential.

 

Core Responsibilities

 

Serve as HROW’s primary liaison to the investment community, exhibiting proficiency in communicating the company’s strategy, growth opportunities, competitive position, financial performance, and other investment merits. 

  • Establish and maintain positive, productive relations with institutional investors, key retail investors, and buy/sell side analysts.
  • Serve as the main point of contact for media.
  • Develop, implement, and manage strategic investor and public relations plans and manage agencies' activities (IR, PR, etc.) working on behalf of HROW.
  • Anticipate opportunities to communicate rather than react to external foreseeable events.
  • Develop press releases, Q&A documents, messaging, and other relevant materials to support public disclosures.
  • Work collaboratively with senior leadership to develop key messaging and communication materials for investor and analyst conferences, presentations, road shows, earnings releases and other announcements.
  • Manage HROW's corporate communications via the Harrow corporate website and social media channels. Update and continuously improve the website and social media efforts ensuring that key messages and communications are consistent messaging across all platforms.
  • Work closely with legal counsel and others to ensure that all company communications comply with Reg FD and other relevant rules and regulations.
  • Provide counsel and input to the CEO and others to optimize the company’s ongoing interactions with the investment community.
  • Regularly conduct financial and data analysis to compare the company’s results and guidance against consensus and individual analyst’s projections, to track valuation and other metrics against peers, to evaluate the competitive landscape and provide other market intelligence to senior management.
  • Identify and engage target prospective institutional investors with investment focus aligned with HROW’s investment attributes and strengths.
  • Represent HROW at financial and industry conferences and medical meetings, including coordinating meeting schedules and participating in one-on-one meetings with investors.
  • Serve as key point of corporate communications to internal employees.
  • Perform duties in accordance with established company procedures and policies; perform other duties as assigned.
  • Manage earning calls and other conference calls, investor events, annual shareholder meetings, and management roadshows

 

Qualifications & Requirements

 

  • BA or BS required, MBA and/or CFA charter holder preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience working for a public company, preferably life science, including experience in investor and/or public relations, corporate strategy, equity research, investment banking, finance or corporate communications.
  • Stellar verbal and written communication skills, including impeccable presentation skills; proven ability to effectively interact with and present to (verbally and in writing) external and internal stakeholders, demonstrated through a personable and energetic communication style with the ability to convey credibility
  • Successful track record of interfacing with the investment community and media.
  • Understands industry trends.
  • Uncompromising ability to maintain confidentiality, exercise sound judgment and the highest level of discretion; knowledge of SEC and disclosure requirements preferred.
  • Strong working knowledge of financial modeling techniques and modeling methods used by investors and analysts.
  • Excellent organization and time-management skills required. Must be able to manage substantial workload and aggressive timelines in a timely manner, prioritize and work under pressure.
  • Strong working knowledge of Reg FD and SEC rules and regulations concerning investment community
  • Ability to demonstrate initiative and simultaneously achieve multiple tasks.
