Harbor is seeking a Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) to join our growing team. The HRBP serves as a relationship manager with our Harbor employees, managers, and leaders, and will provide holistic HR support to a subset of Harbor’s business units. To be successful in this role you must understand business priorities and translate them in a way that influences employee engagement and performance. A data driven approach will be taken to help leaders navigate areas of concerns, improve performance, retention and most important of all – employee engagement and experience. This role reports into a Senior Manager of Talent and is a fully remote or hybrid position located anywhere in the UK.
Responsibilities:
- Partner with employees / leaders on the implementation of ongoing company-wide cyclical Talent initiatives, in collaboration with functional Talent leads (including but not limited to):
- Employee Policies / Global Employee Handbooks
- Learning & Development/Training
- Annual Employee Engagement + eNPS Surveys
- Annual Compensation Reviews / Performance Management Cycle
- Oversee management of Talent / employee lifecycle processes for assigned business units, including but not limited to onboarding, offboarding and exit interviews, promotions.
- Provide coaching and guidance to managers, leaders around employee relations, team and individual performance management.
- Understand business goals and recommend new approaches and ideas to provide continual development of Talent initiatives that align with those goals.
- Proactively assess team and manager development needs, make recommendations, and implement appropriate solutions.
- Consult with leaders through strategic relationship building, strong business acumen, and human resource knowledge to provide support on varying HR related matters including complex people issues.
- Engages with leaders frequently to foster the process of exchanging ideas and sharing updates on Talent Initiatives.
- Serve as an employee champion to enable career fulfilment/progression.
- Act as a cultural steward to encourage positive morale.
- Stay informed of industry trends/regulations.
- Work with 3rd party Subject Matter Experts as needed – i.e. external employment counsel.
- Performs other related tasks as assigned by management.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required with a focus on Human Resources Management; SHRM certification preferred.
- 5 years’ experience in an HR Business Partner position required
- Strong knowledge of U.K. employment law.
- Demonstrated ability to manage issues within the framework of grievance, capability, and redundancy processes.
- Experience with fast growth, entrepreneurial environment.
- Demonstrated solid judgment and experience assessing risk relative to the business.
- Experience managing complex employee relations situations.
- Must be able to interface with all levels of the organization.
- Prior experience supporting the execution of organization-wide HR programs.
- Excellent skills in the following areas: teamwork, judgment, relationship building / building trust, influence, written and verbal communication, business acumen, consulting, conflict management.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Demonstrated resourcefulness, ability to take initiative, and think outside the box to develop solutions.
- Ability to handle and maintain confidential and sensitive information.
- Strong knowledge of U.K. employment law. Global experience a plus.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams)
- Permanent U.K. work authorization.
