THE OPPORTUNITY

We’re looking for a talented Senior Backend Software Engineer to join our Partners Focus Area in Brazil

As a Backend Software Engineer, you will be responsible for developing highly scalable services making sure that best practices of modern web development are followed. You will have plenty of opportunities to take part in architectural decisions, suggest improvements and interact with the product team and other business stakeholders in a high collaborative agile environment.

At the Check-in/ Booking team. This team is responsible to help process all Partners accesses of Gympass's users, including several types of access, such as fingerprint and face recognition. 

YOUR IMPACT

  • Build scalable, maintainable architectures, and write clean and readable code;
  • Ensure successful delivery of projects, and promote the long-term technical health of our services,
  • Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain and improve services focusing on performance, scalability, and stability;
  • Build Integration with 3rd party API and tools;
  • Manage project priorities, deadlines and deliverables;
  • Bring expertise in architecture and design process;
  • Support existing systems looking to enhance functionality, increase scale, and transform in new ways to meet our product demands;
  • Create new services and capabilities to meet emerging needs as our business grows;
  • Exert technically influence over other engineers, by sharing his experience and knowledge.

 WHO YOU ARE

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent professional experience;
  • Strong experience designing and developing complex modern services applications;
  • Strong experience working with modern Agile product development teams;
  • Experience with at least one programming language such as Scala, Kotlin, Golang or Java;
  • Experience with NodeJs is considered to be a plus;
  • Experience with SQL/ NoSQL technology such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, DynamoDB understanding common use cases and performance pitfalls;
  • Experience dealing with event-driven architectures and message brokers such as RabbitMQ, KAFKA , ActiveMQ, etc and a in depth understanding of their use cases and pitfalls;
  • Experience with Cloud-based architectures in the AWS;
  • Versed in concepts such as DDD, SOLID, Design Patterns distributed systems and architecture.
  • Capable of understanding pitfalls and anticipating common failure modes of a microservice environment;
  • Experienced in implementing prototypes and in practices and concepts such as MVP, A/B testing and feature toggles for rolling-out features to production;
  • Proficient in automated testing;
  • Strong communication skills, including verbal and written English and Portuguese
