Are you a highly organized individual with an interest in the future of finance? We’re looking for a Payments Compliance Analyst to join our Legal & Compliance team to support our growth and assist with the development of a payments compliance program. 

The ideal candidate thrives on working cross-functionally and building trust across a number of functions. You will have experience with drafting policies and procedures and be comfortable diving deep on controls with the business.

What it is like to Work with Gusto

Here’s what you’ll do day-to-day:

  • Develop and/or enhance policies and procedures that support the Compliance Management System Framework
  • Monitor regulatory changes and communicate changes to business partners
  • Work with cross-functional partners (e.g. Payment Operations and Engineering) to ensure controls are designed appropriately to reduce compliance risk 
  • Act as a subject matter expert on al things payments related 
  • Assist with payments related issues and/or questions that may arise 
  • Evaluate new payments products to evaluate compliance risks 
  • Assist with compliance’s monitoring and testing efforts 
  • Assist with ACH and payments related audits 
  • Lead payments compliance meetings 
  • Participate in working groups related to monitoring and regulatory change management 
  • Work with our Compliance and Legal teams to support and continuously improve our compliance processes
  • Additional support of our Legal & Compliance team as needed

Here’s what we're looking for:

  • B.A. or B.S.
  • 3+ years of financial services, audit and/or compliance experience
  • Professional certification such as Accredited Risk Payments Professional (APRM) and Accredited ACH Professional (AAP)   
  • Familiarity with Reg E, CFPB Remittance Rule, NACHA rules and guidelines, and applicable international payments rules and regulations
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills and ability to translate complex issues for consumption by technical and non-technical audiences
  • Self-starter with a problem-solving aptitude who is not afraid to take initiative and has a high level of self-sufficiency
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Self-direction and a knack for spotting issues and solving problems

Our cash compensation amount for this role is targeted at $70,000 - $114,000 in Denver & most remote locations, and $88,000 - $138,000 for San Francisco & New York. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors including candidate experience and expertise and may vary from the amounts listed above.
