We are looking for an engineering leader to come join our App Ecosystem Engineering group at Gusto. In this role, you’ll empower a team of 8 software engineers working on product development at Gusto. In addition, you’ll work closely with product, design, and other stakeholders to scope product requirements, drive strategy, and execute.

This team plays a key role in our vision and is looking for their next leader. This group works on our public facing API, App developers experiences, and App discovery experience and is a cornerstone of our ecosystem vision.

Here’s what you’ll do day-to-day:

  • Hire, lead and grow a team of eight (8) talented engineers
  • Work cross functionally with design and product management to own the team’s vision and strategy
  • Work with cross-functional partners in engineering and data science to realize the vision

Here’s what we're looking for:

  • 6+ years software engineering experience
  • 2+ years software engineering management experience
  • Experience in highly cross-functional environments for highly complex products preferred.
  • Experience in bootstrapping teams from the ground up preferred. 
  • Prior experience in growth, front end engineering and user experience optimization preferred.

Our cash compensation amount for this role is targeted from $160,000 to $187,000 per year in Denver & most remote locations, and $200,000 to $234,000 for San Francisco & New York. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors including candidate experience and expertise and may vary from the amounts listed above.
