The Account Director role is an individual contributor responsible for prospecting and closing sales in GumGum’s Market Leading Contextual Advertising platform. Reporting to the Head of Sales, SEA, this role is responsible for developing key relationships within large and mid-size agencies with occasional managerial guidance on client calls. We require this role to work relatively autonomously while being supported by a cross-functional pre-sales team. 

Account Directors have experience and deep knowledge of the online media landscape, and the advertising community and have at least 5+ years of digital media experience.  The Account Director uses existing processes to solve a variety of challenging problems to deliver for clients. The role is required to apply independent judgment and discretion to select appropriate options from GumGum’s defined and proven products.

Note: GumGum fosters a flexible work environment, offering GumGummers the ability to work either in-office or remotely/from home. However, for occasional in-person collaboration, we kindly ask that this position be located within a 'commutable' distance to our office.


What You'll Achieve

  • Boost SEA Revenue: Manage and grow a book of business, driving revenue and new business across SEA.
  • Maximize Marketing Leads: Spot and develop opportunities from marketing-driven leads.
  • Sales Activities Galore: Expect a high volume of activities like cold calling, presentations, RFPs, and unique sales solutions.
  • Client Growth: Upsell current clients with insights into our display and video offerings, and support new product rollouts.
  • Build Relationships: Cultivate strong relationships with brands, agencies, and clients, understanding their needs to offer the best GumGum solutions.
  • Feedback Loop: Share client insights with the product team to enhance service offerings.
  • Teamwork: Collaborate with the Account Manager and other teams to ensure smooth implementation of sold proposals.

Skills You'll Bring 

  • Comfortable with logging meetings, calls, and pulling reports in Salesforce.
  • Ideally 5+ years of selling experience in digital advertising sales
  • Bachelor's Degree in Media or Marketing/Advertising field
  • Skilled in PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong and strategic in building client relationships.
  • Keen attention to detail and superb organizational skills.
  • Quick to solve problems and manage stakeholders.
  • Understand business drivers like P&L, COGS, and revenue.
  • Use analytical skills to interpret data and develop solutions.
  • Passionate, proactive, and highly motivated with a sense of urgency.
  • Adaptable to change, open to feedback, and able to think outside the box.
