The Senior HR Business Partner will provide day-to-day support to employees and leaders across GumGum’s EMEA region which includes offices in the UK, Netherlands, Germany, Poland, Belgium, and Denmark. This person will be part of the EMEA People Team and the broader global People Team with US headquarters. Reporting directly to the Director, People and Culture EMEA they will manage employee relations matters,  performance and compensation review planning, engagement activities, and a variety of organizational and talent topics.

A variety of projects will emerge across HR operations, HR business partnering, employee relations, DEIB and employee experience.

The Senior HRBP will be within commutable distance to our London office in the Farringdon areas and is able to be in the office 2 - 3 times per week and as needed beyond that.

What You'll Achieve

HR Business Partner Support:

  • Collaborate with department managers and leaders to identify resourcing needs
  • Provide guidance and input on organizational design, workforce planning, talent management and succession planning
  • Deliver insights and reports to leadership as needed
  • Design and manage change management and communications plans
  • Draft and edit job descriptions, advise on compensation, and collaborate with Talent Acquisition and hiring managers on interviewing and advising on selection

Employee Relations:

  • Manage and resolve complex employee relations issues across the 5 EMEA locations
  • Conduct effective, thorough and objective investigations when needed
  • Counsel employees and proactively facilitate conflict resolution between employees, escalating issues as appropriate
  • Maintain knowledge of employment law matters related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance
  • Consult with the General Counsel and/or external employment law attorneys as needed/required

Performance & Talent Management:

  • Conduct regular, pro-active meetings with employees, managers and leaders to develop, assess, and anticipate HR related needs
  • Provide consultative guidance and support to the business as they evolve HR and people practices
  • Consult with management, providing HR guidance on a variety of issues and topics
  • Provide day-to-day performance management guidance to management (e.g., coaching, counseling, career development, performance improvement)
  • Help manage the performance management and compensation planning

Employee Engagement, Development & Retention:

  • Work closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention
  • Facilitate effective on-boarding and exit surveys; providing feedback where appropriate to leaders

Employee Experience:

  • Be a thought partner on employee experience events; liaising with the global team and local ERGs to organize region/office appropriate events
  • Embed and run employee engagement programmes across EMEA with support from the HR Coordinator
  • Lead the HR Coordinator in organising events for EMEA per office
  • Support the employee engagement survey for EMEA, analysing results with your manager, creating a plan of action and feeding back results to the EMEA Leadership Team members

People Operations:

  • Supporting the People Operations Advisor and HR Coordinator in delivering excellent service to the employees they support 

Skills You'll Bring

  • 5-7 years of diverse HR experience, ideally across international locations.
  • A BA or BS in human resources, marketing, communications, or one of the social sciences or equivalent experience
  • Strong written and storytelling skills, with excellent organizational and program management abilities.
  • Innovative and bold thinker with excellent negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
  • Proactive self-starter comfortable with fast-paced environments and multiple projects.
  • Collaborative and consultative approach with the ability to collect and analyze data to drive change.
  • Ability to work autonomously while maintaining integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
  • Strong empathy, interpersonal skills, and appreciation for cultural differences.
  • Deep curiosity and passion for enhancing employee experience, staying updated on the latest trends.
  • Energetic people-person who loves interacting and providing great experiences at work.
  • Resourceful problem solver with a collaborative team player mindset.
