JOB PURPOSE

Working for one of the world's most fun and recognized brands, the PR Manager will help to execute PR initiatives and campaigns to raise awareness across all business areas and products. In this highly creative and collaborative role, they will work across the regional brand and media relations strategy to continue to inspire our fans, readers, and potential clients throughout the year.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Implement global and national PR campaigns to increase B2B and B2C brand awareness, book sales and lead generation
  • Oversee the press office:
    • Identify, write, and pitch B2B and B2C media PR opportunities
    • Monitor and respond to incoming inquiries
  • Create articles and thought leadership posts for GWR owned sites 
  • Liaise with Digital, Sales and Marketing teams on key stories to pitch for media
  • Build and maintain strong media contacts within relevant trade and consumer-focused outlets across print and online media
  • Work cross-functionally with B2B and B2C Marketing to deliver PR support for on-site events, speaking opportunities and industry awards
  • Provide PR-led insight in client brainstorm sessions, including ideation of creative campaign solutions
  • Conduct market research on reputation, competitors and consumer audience
  • Develop and supervise regular content partnerships with relevant media 
  • Regularly report on coverage and KPI’s

BACKGROUND AND EXPERIENCE

  • 4-6 years of experience successfully executing PR campaigns and media relations deliverables in an in-house setting
  • Bachelor’s Degree in public Relations, Journalism, or Communications preferred
  • Proven media relations skills with demonstrated ability to get meaningful placements
  • Excellent communicator, both verbally and in writing for effective daily correspondence
  • Strong organizational and time management skills necessary
  • Comfortable with creative thinking, strategic planning as well as implementing the details
  • Has a service-minded mentality and a “roll their sleeves up” type of attitude; will pitch in for all facets of the company
  • Ability to work autonomously without prompting, as well as collaboratively as a member of a team and across other departments
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Outlook/Excel/PowerPoint/Word)
  • Knowledge of online database applications and media monitoring services (Cision/Meltwater/TV Eyes)
  • Experience with international media desirable but not essential
