Higher Ground Education is seeking a Texas Licensing and Regional Operations Lead (ROL) to join our regional support team. The ROL supports school leaders in operational excellence by managing effective scheduling, ensuring data accuracy and consistency across our SmartCare billing platform, partner with all school leaders on licensing activities, and creating a smooth parent experience. Operational excellence is a key metric that leads to full, thriving school communities.
High-quality, authentic Montessori programming is core to our organizational success, as well. To support this, the Regional Operations Lead will work alongside school leaders to support move-ups across classrooms, create effective and efficient campus routines, and more. This position reports to the Regional Manager - South Texas.
We’re scaling quickly and have over 150 schools. We’re looking for an individual who is both a big-picture thinker capable of surveying our vast landscape of school needs and a hands-on doer with the skills to quickly solve problems and scale practical, effective practices that help us have thriving and profitable schools. If you’re excited about working in an entrepreneurial environment and building capacity in others to enable widespread change in education today, this role is for you.
Must be located in the San Antonio, Austin, or Houston markets; Austin-preferred. Relocation bonus is available. Below-stated salary is non-negotiable.
Responsibilities
The Regional Operations Lead will be a member of a small but mighty regional team supporting a portfolio of about a dozen schools. This team functions in a cross-functional manner including enabling school leaders and teams to own the holistic success of their school. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Operational Excellence. This individual will play a key part in supporting our school teams to have clean data and running tight day-to-day operations. Utilizing both deep experience and knowledge of our systems and processes alongside data-rich metrics, this regional team member ensures that our school teams have the support and coaching to effectively support items like timely tuition billing and collection, optimized staff scheduling, efficient and fiscally responsible school-level processes, pristine online student and licensing staff files, and passion for great operations driving an overall exemplar parent experience.
- Texas state Licensing. A key part of this role will be overseeing the 11 schools in our region (6 in Austin, 3 in Houston, and 2 in San Antonio) with solid licensing practices. You will be responsible for making sure all schools are in good standing with the THHS and DFPS with student and staff files, inspections, and the day-to-day licensing activities that occur throughout the month. You must have a deep understanding of process implementation with items such as staff onboarding, file requirements, state inspections, self-reports, yearly audits, ratio-based scheduling, and more.
- Billing. You will be responsible for learning and acquiring a vast knowledge of our third-party billing software: SmartCare. You will be responsible for managing data errors (from inter-connected systems like Salesforce and Microsoft BI), under-billing, and collections in conjunction with our school leaders. You will be the primary knowledge base for the SmartCare system and work with other ROL's in the region to refine processes nation-wide, if need be, at our 150+ schools across the country.
