Thrillist is looking for a project manager to join our creative team. The Creative Team at Thrillist develops the design, style and spirit of every Thrillist-led initiative across editorial photo, social, video, and experiences. Our team of artists, photographers and writers breathe visual life into the brand, and we are seeking an organized, style-savvy project manager to coordinate our projects, optimize workflows, and ensure success at every touchpoint with other teams. This project manager understands the nature and timelines associated with digital, social, video and experiential production, knows how to seek and secure freelance talent, can balance a budget, and works well with a large team on a wide range of project types. You are a self-starter who is very detail oriented, and exhibits grace under fire. This role reports to the Creative Director and is based in New York. 

The Project Manager will lead by example in demonstrating Group Nine’s values - Care Deeply, Be Brave, Go First, Do Good, Stay Close and Win Together.


  • Oversee the work flow of all editorial design needs by working closely with editors, producers and designers to make sure all projects are appropriately staffed and timed
  • Work with designers to manage the editorial workflow on Airtable, assigning and tracking projects 
  • Work closely with producers on the video team to create award winning graphics packages, sets, and other design needs
  • Work closely with the social team to coordinate design elements across all social media 
  • Ensure design assets are organized on our servers
  • Maintain the Creative team office calendar
  • Work with the group nine legal, workplace, and finance teams to keep contracts organized and up to date
  • Maintain permissions and licenses for creative team programs
  • Seek, onboard, and allocate freelance creatives 
  • Track the monthly budget and report to creative director
  • Work closely with creative director to produce special projects and initiatives such as events and merch


  • Strong relationships with members of the creative team as well as key point people on the other teams 
  • Working relationships with freelancers and program vendors
  • Knowing where the budget stands at any given moment
  • Clear and complete timelines for larger projects 
  • Ability to take meetings independently and report back to creative director with recommendations on how to staff and time a project
  • Strong ability to negotiate for time and resources when necessary 
  • Clear understanding of our brand’s visual style 


  • Minimum of 5 years experience in project management, line production, or creative resourcing. Agency experience preferred
  • Mastery of excel and similar programs
  • Familiarity with adobe creative suite programs
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills 
  • Problem-solving attitude
