About the Role:

The Climate Policy Advisor will lead Gro’s thinking on Climate policy and serve as a direct advisor to the CEO.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide policy advisory and strategic thinking on policy issues relating to climate change within the domestic politics of the world’s major economies as well as in a global institutional context
  • Prepare strategic policy briefs on the status of international climate change negotiations, domestic climate regulatory frameworks and laws, forthcoming policy events, and trends in climate policy thinking
  • Attend (Post Pandemic) international and academic conferences and other major events related to climate policy
  • Staying current with the latest news and research in climate/environmental policy
  • Identify unmet needs within governments, businesses, and international institutions for climate and environmental data and analytics.  Evaluate opportunities for areas for strategic engagement with these organizations.
  • In collaboration with our engineering and science teams, suggest appropriate data sets, product features, and measurement frameworks to respond to client needs and further our leadership in the climate space
  • Working on special projects and initiatives

Qualifications:

Gro is seeking a dynamic, highly motivated policy expert with proven ability to work independently as well as being effective in teams. The successful candidate would have:

  • PhD in Environment, Development, Economics, or a related field
  • 5+ years of relevant work experience
  • Exceptional written, oral, and presentation abilities
  • Strong organizational, problem solving, and analytical skills
  • Ability to perform and synthesize quantitative and qualitative analyses
  • Experience working and collaborating with governments, regulatory agencies, and international organizations
  • Experience utilizing climate data and climate science
  • Expertise across all major facets of climate change (mitigation, adaptation, technology, investment)

Great to Have but Not Required:

  • Expertise in quantitative measurement tools such as econometrics or statistics
  • Experience in government or a major international organization
