The Role 

Green Thumb Industries is seeking an experienced manager to join our Business Intelligence team, focusing on evolving our use of data to deliver improved insights across the company.  The candidate will collaborate closely with stakeholders across our Finance, Retail, Revenue, and CPG teams to deliver on projects that make an impact to their operations.  This candidate will collaborate with Data Engineering to ensure that data is delivered accurately and timely for our stakeholders.  In addition to leading a small team of analysts, this will be a hands-on role focusing on delivering analytic solutions that drive forward capabilities for Green Thumb Industries. 

This is a hybrid position - 1 day per week at our HQ office in River North. 

Responsibilities 

  • Collaborate with key decision makers and business stakeholders to understand their reporting and analytics needs 
  • Manage the daily operations of the Business Intelligence team and foster a high performance and personal growth culture 
  • Design data models that meet analytic requirements and support efficient querying  
  • Own the Business Intelligence reporting tools and ensure they are designed and configured for optimal performance 
  • Establish operational procedures and best practices for the team to follow 
  • Design and develop actionable reports, dashboards and data visualizations that provide insights to end users 
  • Manage business intelligence projects to ensure they meet business requirements and are delivered on time 
  • Implement data quality monitoring tools to ensure the accuracy and recency of data 
  • Create and maintain end user documentation including a data dictionary, report inventory, data lineage, etc. 
  • Conduct end user training sessions and ongoing support to users of the business intelligence platform 
  • Collaborate with infrastructure and information security teams to implement solutions to ensure our platform and data are secure 
  • Stay updated with the latest business intelligence and analytics trends 

Qualifications  

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field 
  • 6+ years of experience and a proven track record of success in technology related field 
  • 1+ year(s) direct people management experience  
  • Strong expertise in business intelligence concepts, tools, and methodologies 
  • Expertise in various BI reporting tools such as Tableau, Power BI, Looker 
  • Experience with dbt or similar data transformation tools and techniques 
  • Understanding of dimensional data modeling, ETL/ELT processes, and data warehousing architecture 
  • Experience writing and optimizing complex SQL statements in a cloud data warehouse environment such as Snowflake or Redshift 
  • Experience working with various services in AWS such as S3, Cloudwatch, MWAA, RDS 
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills 
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to collaborate with business stakeholders

  • Must pass any and all required background checks  
  • Must be and remain compliant with all legal or company regulations for working in the industry  
  • Must be a minimum of 21 years of age
