Job Description

Grassroots Analytics was built with the intention of breaking down barriers to entry for all candidates, no matter their background, net worth, or political history. In GA’s Digital Lab, our team of digital experts works with a select group of upstart, underdog campaigns and causes to democratize fundraising and set new standards for innovation. We can – and do – try something new every day by leveraging our world-class database. In essence, we exist to jumpstart programs whose biggest barrier to success is the status quo. 

The Digital Strategist will be a generous, enthusiastic collaborator with the knowledge to lead multiple full-scale campaigns – and a healthy appetite to keep learning new skills from everyone here. This is a position designed for growth, as the Strategist develops a balance of independent leadership and 360º project management with a team of collaborators. 

The Digital Strategist will report to the Digital Director.

Responsibilities

•  Full-Scale Digital Program Execution

○  Conceptualize, set, follow, and analyze content for email and text
○  Draft compelling fundraising copy in accordance with best practices
○  Utilize Grassroots’ progressive donor database to pursue hyper-targeted list-building
○  Delegate to and collaborate with Digital Associates for team-wide growth and optimization
○  Maintain robust testing procedures to challenge assumptions and measure success

•  Customer Service

○  Lead client communication for assigned clients, building productive, proactive, informative rapport with all client contacts
○  Establish reporting and troubleshooting processes

•  Digital Partnerships/Sales

○  Work with the Digital Director to understand the range of digital services offered by GA, and provide input on how to strengthen these services
○  Assess personal and professional networks for campaigns, causes, or digital firms who may benefit from GA’s offerings

Qualifications 

•  At least 1 complete year of experience contributing to a digital program 

○  Experience may come from a campaign, nonprofit, or any other dedicated cause you can translate into this role. Campaign experience can be cumulative; all others should be consecutive 

•  Strong writing skills within a range of styles and formats, to include digital fundraising
•  Experience working with CRMs, SMS platforms, and donation platforms
•  Facility with data analysis, revenue and ROI tracking, and projections
•  Working knowledge of HTML
•  Openness to feedback, willingness to be wrong, and flexibility to pivot when necessary
•  Passion for and belief in the power of digital fundraising to influence our future
•  Demonstrated commitment to social justice, equity, and inclusion 

The salary range for this position is $65,000 – $70,000 plus benefits, with the possibility of signing and performance bonuses. This is a full-time, in-office position based in our office in the Chinatown neighborhood of Washington, D.C. Candidates must be willing to work in-office. #LI-Onsite

We offer 33 days of PTO + two days for every year with GA; 11 federal holidays; and full office closure between Christmas and New Years.
