We’re looking for a detail-oriented and task-driven Senior Accountant to join our Finance Team!  Reporting to our Sr. Accounting Manager, this is an opportunity to join a fast growing startup and play a driving role in our accounting and financial operations.

Our ideal candidate will have the ability and desire to wear many hats, be comfortable with making contributions that are transactional in nature, and be comfortable interacting across all levels and functions of the organization. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the accounting team in the month-end process such as preparing journal entries, conducting fluctuation analysis and reconciling balance sheet accounts, with a focus on prepaids/amortizations, cloud hostings, commissions, etc.
  • Ability to accomplish tasks accurately and within specified deadlines.
  • Work directly with internal and external business partners and be able to provide process overview, evidence and support as requested.
  • Conduct in-depth analysis of financial data to identify trends and variances and resolve accounting discrepancies. 
  • Proactively seek ways to optimize existing accounting and business processes through use of automation, thoughtful analysis, and researching best practices in the industry
  • Assist with audit requests as needed.
  • Perform special, ad-hoc projects in Accounting/Finance as requested, present results to management.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP standards, SOX controls and documentation.

Requirements:

  • BS in Accounting degree preferred
  • Minimum 4 years experience in an Accounting role, operational accounting experience preferred
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Must be detail oriented, able to solve problems and multitask
  • Self starter with high motivation, the ability to work autonomously and efficiently managing workload
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills with a strong customer focus and a service minded attitude

  • Passion in process improvement and automation
  • Experience with NetSuite is strongly preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft with a strong emphasis on Excel is a must

In Canada the compensation range for this role is CAD 79,000 - CAD 95,000.  Actual compensation may vary based on level, experience, and skillset as assessed in the interview process. Benefits include equity, bonus (if applicable), and other benefits listed on our careers page.
