About the team:

You will be joining our monetization and marketplace team, which is focused on growth & revenue generation. This team builds on one of GoodNotes' core strengths: allowing users to create visually appealing notebooks with top-notch handwriting technology. The team works together to create the best digital paper notebook marketplace platform and continually innovate on ways to onboard and covert users to the magical note-taking experience, aligning with the broader company's strategic initiatives.

Our team is spread between Asia and Europe. You’re welcome to work remotely from anywhere, with at least 2-3 hours overlap with the people you’d be working closely with, or you can join us in our Hong Kong or London office. Due to the asynchronous nature of working that GoodNotes has adopted, any time difference will not impact your work-life balance.

About the role:

This is a role that blends design and business. You will be working on our content store platform and will contribute to our sustainable growth by partnering closely with our product analyst, user researcher and other members of the team to run experiments.

This is the role for you, if you’re excited to work on the things listed below:

  • Design user-centric experiences that drive sustainable growth and engagement of GoodNotes’ user base
  • Ideate and design UI flows to increase conversions and drive more optimal growth loops
  • Take part in product experimentation by formulating different design variations based on hypotheses and running A/B tests
  • Shape product strategy through design thinking and user insights
  • Develop an understanding of the "why’s" behind GoodNotes’ funnel or loops to fuel new solutions
  • Translate quantitative data and qualitative insights into creative ideas and considered design decisions
  • Stretch into growth design

The skills you will need to be successful in the above:

  • Minimum 5 years of product design experience preferably in software design, including working on a marketplace or eCommerce platform focused on B2C
  • Experience designing end to end flows from research to delivery, working closely with analysts
  • Proven ability to frame problems, conduct user research excellent visual design skills, with an analytical mindset
  • Experience in providing design inputs to optimise conversion
  • Ability to balance vision with iteration, to make tradeoffs and get the right user experience to market
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently, ensuring responsibility for every detail throughout the process, from initial sketches to the final high-quality outputs.
  • Collaborate in small, cross-functional teams that include members from engineering, product management, and product insights, among other areas.
  • Quickly generate various concepts and prototypes, knowing when to delve deeper and when to switch directions and explore a different method.
  • Consider existing insights, technical limitations, business requirements, and platform-specific needs to create solutions informed by data.

  • Experience working on growth initiatives and designing experiments
  • Experience in contributing to and maintaining growth experiment backlogs
  • Experience in designing productivity or learning experiences
  • Experience of working in a marketplace / eCommerce company
  • Experience in contributing to and maintaining growth experiment backlogs
  • Knowledge in data analysis such as GSheet, Excel and Amplitude

The interview process:

  • An introductory call with someone from our talent acquisition team. They want to hear more about your background, what you are looking for, and why you’d like to join GoodNotes
  • A one hour call with our Head of Design. This is the person who will be managing your day to day, working on your growth and development with you as well as support you throughout your career at GoodNotes. You’ll be expected to walk through your portfolio during this call.
  • A one hour portfolio review with our design team
  • A 45 minute call with our Product Manager and Team Lead for the content store
  • A 1.5 hour whiteboard session with our design team where we co-ideate and see how we can work together
  • A 45 minute call where you will get the chance to speak to 2 or 3 people you’d be working closely with
