About the Role:
G/O Media is looking for an energetic HR Coordinator to join our growing People team. As our HR Coordinator, you should display strong problem solving and decision-making skills, and have a passion for the brands that are housed under the G/O Media umbrella. You should be willing to step up when needed, and act as a resource for employees who have questions that center around things like employee relations, payroll and benefits. The HR Coordinator should thrive in a fast-paced environment, and be proactive in searching for answers.
Responsibilities:
Assist with all internal and external HR related inquiries or requests
Input data into HRIS system & directory related to employee actions (new hires, promotions, transfers, increases, terminations etc.)
Maintains and is responsible for onboarding, off-boarding, promotions and transfers of various checklists and activities for assigned business units
Serves as the point person between employees and payroll department (i.e. tax documents, employee timesheet matters, etc.)
Assist with performance management procedures
Schedule meetings, interviews, HR events and maintain agendas
Assist with payroll and other ad hoc HR projects
Qualifications:
2+ years of Human Resource experience with Union experience a plus
HRIS experience using WorkforceNow or similar. ADP payroll experience is a plus
The ideal candidate is tech savvy and proficient in Google Suite and Mac OS
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Comfortable conducting staff orientations, training sessions and seminars.
Working Knowledge of New York and California labor laws
Attention to detail and focus on quality of work
